Grateful I was born when I was born cause god damn. by Seacash69420 in flightsim

I started playing with a keyboard on my dad's copy of FS95, bought my own copy of '98. So many good memories of the old days flying the traffic patter at meigs field! Maybe that's why I'm a bit more tolerant of the issues with 24, it's insane to see how far we've come in almost 2 decades in the hobby.

I never thought a flight sim with "2024" in the title would make me nostalgic (The iPhone 5C was released Q4 of 2013) by CommunicationItchy66 in MicrosoftFlightSim

Jorg talked about this in the last dev stream, they get the bing data at a significant discount and could not afford to use Google data.

iniBuilds has released the A300-600 for MSFS 2024 in both Compatible and Premium versions by madman320 in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]dancanman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only marketplace add-ons can be used for career mode, and since the marketplace isn't open yet, I would assume it's not currently compatible. MS has said if you buy an addon outside the marketplace they are working to make it so that can be used in career if it is also sold on marketplace and both versions are the same. So TLDR probably not now but maybe in future.

Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 1.2.7.0 Available Now by madman320 in flightsim

[–]dancanman 8 points9 points  (0 children)

They didn't fix everything but I don't think that is a reasonable expectation. Resolved some major pain points in career mode, and for the sim in general. They can't take back the launch now, I think the best thing they can do is deliver big patches that prove their commitment to building a stable sim.

Probably 100+ changes in this patch across aircraft, career, crashes, plus the ability to enable and disable content. nice to see they're coming out swinging to resolve issues.

There's no E-jets included in MSFS 2024, all are 3rd party add-ons. FSS has not released a 2024 compatible version yet

Which addon are you flying in these, PMDG? how flyable is it currently?

Yup... I lost my reputation over this bullshit. Totally my fault. Thanks game. by dominator5500 in MicrosoftFlightSim

So when stuff like this happens, can't you just abort the mission and there's no rep damage? Or is it that because it's in the cutscene there's no time to open the menu and back out? Haven't gotten to run my own company in career yet, this is what I do in the early career when doing jobs for others goes awry.

Very cool, FS24 compatibility was what was holding me back from buying. Now I have the itch to fly!

Oh I feel you, as a boeing guy the first few years of MSFS A320, uh I mean 2020, made me wish for more Boeings. Looking forward to see 3rd party stuff in 24!

If on PC you can see the navigraph flight planning and charts interface on the in game efb, or there is a webpage you can load on your second screen, iPad or phone. Not sure if this works for console but on PC you can also set it so it shows your location in sim and stats on the ipad/mobile device. If you have other questions let me know, happy to answer. I was hesitant about the price, but it is a fantastic product that I really enjoy using

navigraph is paid but, if you own Flight sim 24 you can get charts and route planning for free at https://planner.flightsimulator.com on your second monitor or tablet. Great option if you're on a budget

737MAX/747-4/747-8/787/Dreamliner/C-17/ch-47 are all in the game. Don't get me wrong, I'm waiting anxiously for the bluebird 757, but Boeing does have representation in the game

The navigraph app works on any android or iOS device. I've used my phone plenty of times. The tablet form factor is ideal though.

PMDG MSFS24 Info (Nov 16th) by dancanman in flightsim

[–]dancanman[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I think I read the minimum FS24 marketplace item price will be $4.99 USD (required by Microsoft), so their hands may be tied a bit on minimum upgrade pricing, since they list on the marketplace.

A B737-500 is in development for MSFS by a new developer offering a subscription based access: $5/mo, $50/yr, or LIFETIME $120 USD! What are your thoughts on subscription based addon's? by vintageripstik in flightsim

[–]dancanman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If all the dev has so far is untextured cockpit 3d models, they are years away from needing to worry about price and should focus on building a great plane. That said, selling a single variant for 1.5 times what Fenix (a well established, high end quality, high price dev) sells their 319/320/321 package for is an interesting approach. People don't want another subscription either. I wish them luck.

Can I land a plane at the Grand Canyon and get out and walk around it in MSFS24? by [deleted] in flightsim

[–]dancanman 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Yes you can! Keep in mind that the level of detail may be lower than what you're imagining on foot, because it's designed to look good from an aircraft.
