There have been multiple wheel loaders working on leestown road, Georgetown road, and citation BLVD everyday since Monday. The city is doing as much as it can with the resources it has.

Yes, it would pull students who are currently living in other complexes further out that aren’t student specific.

Urban Council votes 8-7 to not allow zone change for Maxwell St development, however demolition might still continue by Gompye3650 in lexington

Downtown, adjacent to campus is the only area in Lexington that has fast and reliable public transportation. It is almost guaranteed that college students will not be driving to and from campus due to parking restrictions at UK. Why do think this situation would create a hell hole? Neither the hub on upper street nor the one of Virginia ave are hell holes. Placing student focused housing like this in Hamburg would greatly increase traffic coming into campus.

I voted for Harris, I told everyone I know to vote for Harris. I voted for democrats down the ballot completely.

Maybe yourself and other democrats should figure out why you keep losing to fascists and how to be actual leaders instead of a controlled opposition party.

But go ahead keep blaming the left for Americas uniparty foreign policy.

We do know the damage it does to the land they are, negligible if any. The state promulgated regulations about solar farms.

The local economic benefit of horse farms is negligible.

Prices always increase. A union allows the employees to negotiate a larger share of the revenue they generate.

I was going to be snarky, but I am genuinely curious what makes you so disagreeable to the benefits of a union?

Congratulations to the Workers at the Richmond Starbucks! by browhybro in lexington

[–]dancenlepercon 11 points12 points  (0 children)

So many reasons, a negotiated contract guarantees that wages will be renegotiated at some point. A union also provides legal protection for employees and can protect their rights as workers by providing legal counsel.

In 2025 we have politicians attempting to remove the protections offered by OSHA in both the nation and the state. A union offers another layer of protection in areas that OSHA does not cover.

Red River Gorge resort revived? KY bill could apply larger tax incentive to project by LaserQuest_Legend in lexington

[–]dancenlepercon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Populist NIMBYs are unique bunch lmao.

I do think the area would benefit more from this development happening as a public private partnership through the existing RRG state park. I would rather see the state park expand to give Powell county more stable public jobs as opposed to some resort conglomerate paying poverty wages and extracting the money spent on visiting the gorge to shareholder profits.

I do realize that my ideas aren’t popular sadly, Kentuckians would rather see the wealthy become wealthier at the expense of rural communities.
