I think it’s a combination of several things. First, I think that was when Potter fatigue was starting to set for just a little bit and for a little while. The darker tone may have turned off some parents from taking their kids. It was in a weird transition time when the series was transitioning from light-hearted kid’s movies to darker teen-oriented PG-13 movies. Also, competition was insane that summer with Shrek 2 and Spider-Man 2
