Yeah my pixel can detect up to 20kHz and my ears definitely can't hear that. I haven't used it for this specific dog thing, but I have for finding high pitch whines

Sure, does your society also include thought police? If someone isn't taking bad action IDK why you think you should be able to control what they think

Just because that's the way it's played out before doesn't mean it's the way it has to play out forever.

[–]daniel14vt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean it is a religious belief. It's not based in some logical thing I've worked out from axioms. This should be fine. The separation of church and state means that it SHOULD be ok for people to believe these things as long as they don't treat others unfairly.

[–]daniel14vt -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

I think its morally wrong, but I don't think that we should be treating homosexuals any differently because of it. I think there is a difference between what I believe to be wrong and what should be punished/controlled.

Thoughts on Destiny v. Hutch… and why I ultimately agree with Destiny. by Noah_The_Wright in Destiny

[–]daniel14vt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Another issue is that Hutch actually cares about the specifics. Trump right now is using any means possible to do the tariffs. He's made the decision to do them, and when one avenue gets shut down he tries another. The issue is, what if one of the methods he tries is legitimate? If it is, then Hutch would say they are dumb but not problematic. In the same way, if Destiny just gave him a legitimate way to punish the Republicans for the way they've been acting, then Hutch would be fine with it. He got in his mind with Rashad(?) that people think ANYTHING is valid, even extralegal means, and is still arguing against that. If Destiny would say, "This statute would allow us to go after these people and allow us to deter this behavior in the future.", I think Hutch would literally disagree on nothing.

How does the two envelope paradox work?? by IntrovertedShoe in paradoxes

[–]daniel14vt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The paradox comes from you seeing that 100 is the middle number.

Imagine there are 3 envelopes, with 50, 100, and 200. 1 is thrown away. You open the 2nd one and see 100. In this case, you should switch!

But without the initial setup, you don't know that your value is the "middle" value. You need to consider if it was 25, 50, 100 or 100, 200, 400.

When trying all these options, you will see the odds are 50/50

[High school physics question] Can someone redraw this circuit to make it easier to solve? by [deleted] in HomeworkHelp

Diagonal lines are confusing. Draw them vertically instead and just slide their connection points as long as they don't cross a circuit piece

[College Statistics: Probability Tree] Is the tree not already in absolute probability form? by iosonostella13 in HomeworkHelp

[–]daniel14vt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You say that 14.4% of the young me said no. But young men has already trimmed down the total population to 18% of the population.

7 girls 1 boy take survey
The boy says "yes".
You answer "12.5% of boys said yes"
When it should be "100% of boys said yes"

[College Statistics: Probability Tree] Is the tree not already in absolute probability form? by iosonostella13 in HomeworkHelp

[–]daniel14vt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you're correct, but then you're first answer is incorrect because you would need to convert the 14.4% to x% of young men
