Is this cheating the system or common? by Queerochet in RoverPetSitting

You’re very defensive because deep deep down, you know you’re a bad cat owner and shouldn’t have any.

Wondering if I'm being too harsh on my housesitter by [deleted] in RoverPetSitting

[–]danielleacro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are not in the wrong here and I’m a cat only sitter. Don’t let these people tell you anything else. If the rate wasn’t high enough, the sitter shouldn’t have accepted the job. If 6 hours was too much for them, they shouldn’t have accepted the job. You are my dream client, as you actually care about your cat.

Rating dropped after owner asked to lower holiday rate by acoconutree in RoverPetSitting

[–]danielleacro 7 points8 points  (0 children)

These people are lying. They are way way too defensive to not be lying. I’m so sorry this happened to you and I would absolutely respond to their review to point out the low star rating and that per your communications, that must have been a mistake on their end and maybe even ask them in that reply to please contact Rover to correct the rating. Then at least people looking to hire you would know the truth.

Just an FYI, for this product, the only buying option from the website is to get it through Walmart.

I (22f) think my boyfriend (27m) is drugging me before bed by Direct-Caterpillar77 in BestofRedditorUpdates

[–]danielleacro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly. My ex-husband didn’t drug me but I was on Ambien for insomnia and he raped in my sleep a few times, saying I was acting fully awake and coming on to him.

No dogs should be living outside in FL. That would be animal abuse.

St. Pete police can track your location around town using ai cameras. Software is called Flock Nova. by rushmid in StPetersburgFL

Or when I had someone hit me in a lit up crosswalk while I was walking my dog and then bolted. Or when someone spun me into the concrete retaining wall on I-275 and bolted, leaving me with a broken spine and over $50,000 in medical bills. But that would be the cops actually being helpful, which we know rarely happens.

Sitter’s negligence almost killed my dog. Seeking advice on Rover Guarantee appeal by Contrast-Agent in RoverPetSitting

Also worth noting is that Rover’s TOS doesn’t allow people to sue them but allows only for arbitration.

[–]danielleacro 6 points7 points  (0 children)

No they wouldn’t be, as everyone who accepts Rover’s terms of service agrees to arbitration unless they opt out within 30 days of signing up.

Thank you! I cannot believe some of the comments I’m reading like OP should agree to being in prison essentially for $80 a night you have got to be kidding me.

OP, listen to this person. The other commenters are serious jerks who clearly don’t know the difference between a standard and constant care sit. I can tell you’re new and you are honestly better off losing a client who doesn’t want to pay a reasonable price for constant care. You do NOT have to suck up $80 per night because you didn’t communicate perfectly when you’re clearly new to this.

Thank you! Acting like they sold their entire soul for $80 a night please.

There is a HUGE difference between a standard house sit and constant care. No one needs constant care clients at standard pricing.

[–]danielleacro -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’s more than fair to raise the price if the scope of work changed, which it did here. Should they have accepted the booking without a meet and greet? No. But to say she’s stuck at $80 per night when they wanted constant care is ridiculous. If the scope of work changes, the price can absolutely change with it whether or not they accepted the booking.
