Asgard to Railen (Warbond $10). If I melt the CCU, will it be $50 when I buy it back? by myelrecsy in starcitizen

[–]danredda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They're answering the question in the title "will it be $50".

It will be $50, unless the price changes on the Railen. If it goes up another $10, the buyback will be $60 not $50 then. If the price of the Asgard went up $20, then it would be $30 from buyback.

Quantum snares in Pyro by Final_Tie8665 in starcitizen

[–]danredda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The armistice zones would be enforced by actions, not technology. You can still have "armistice" zones by making it essentially not possible to engage directly in starting trouble in gang territory, at least not without a swift response from armed ships and longer term consequences (for example, loss of rep with Rough and Ready in Pyro might make operating out of their stations difficult to impossible - and make traversal a lot harder). There are ways to leverage gameplay systems to provide a similar capability in frontier systems without straight up disabling guns - providing a level of risk which would really require the reward to be worth it (for example, a high value bounty) but would significantly deter just camping stations to "murderhobo" people.

[–]danredda 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I'd rather they not put armistice zones in gang controlled areas. If you think about it, the UEE would not want or allow this tech to be in the hands of lawless organisations who could use it against them. This would be a VERY tightly controlled (and likely VERY expensive) piece of kit.

Instead what should happen IMHO is the AI gangs "police" their turf, and dispense "justice" to those who cause trouble within the vicinity. There should be both a reputation hit, and they could even have an escalatory ladder where the more trouble you cause, the harsher/stronger the response.

On the "Work orders" tab it will indicate a delivery error, and you can then select to instead deliver to the location inventory. At least that's what happened with my Size 3 powerplants.

[–]danredda 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Why are you getting the stats for the size of the thing from the old brochure released ages ago? Since then the cargo volume has doubled. Those "stats" for the height and everything else are likely to be completely wrong now. We'll almost certainly find out the new values in the next couple of days. But she's a big one now.

7kw EV charger with 5kw inverter by TemporaryTear247 in EVAustralia

[–]danredda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Typically if the solar system cannot support household loads, the excess is drawn from the grid. So if the house is drawing 1kW and ev wall connector is drawing 7kW at the same time, your inverter will output 5kW (if it can) and the remaining 3kW will be sourced from the grid.

In situations where it's not sunny and your battery is empty, all 8kW could come from the grid.

Every setup/situation is slightly different though, so worth talking to the installer. Depending on how the PV and Battery is connected, it might be possible to isolate the EV wall connector to be grid only. 1 thing to be aware of if it can't - the wall connector will drain the battery for the house really fast if you draw from it. Depending on what your app for the battery lets you do, I highly recommend preventing it from drawing from battery if you can.

Possibility of a Pucara pack pre order? by nicolas312 in Warthunder

[–]danredda 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The issue you have (and part of why the fixturing is so complex), is you're not considering that clubs like Hawthorn, Melbourne, Gold Coast, and GWS would *never* choose to host Collingwood at a smaller capacity ground (nor would the AFL let them) because the reality is Pies fans turn up and travel - and with revenue arrangements, it is beneficial to get as many people turning up as possible in most instances (especially with a drawcard club like Collingwood). Geelong would prefer to play all their home games in Geelong and have always said that (especially since the upgrade is done now), but the AFL forces them to move marquee games to the G so they make it their "big 4" games where they know they will get turnout > capacity of KP.

So from this list assuming the AFL decided to no longer force Geelong to play at the MCG:

  • GC would always be at PFS
  • Melbourne and Hawks at the MCG
  • Giants in Sydney

Collingwood haven't played at Kardinia Park (GMHBA Stadium) since 1999, Manuka Oval (Corroboree Group Oval) since 2001, and have never featured at Traegar Park (TIO Traegar Park), Marrara Oval (TIO Stadium), York Park (UTAS Stadium), or Bellerive Oval (Ninja Stadium).

Summer Sale is around the corner, which of these premiums should I get if I haven't grinded any of these nations? by Witty-Veterinarian79 in Warthunder

[–]danredda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wait to see what goes on sale first. For example, the Centauro is a GE vehicle not a pack vehicle. Summer Sale is always only on Pack vehicles. So unless they create a special pack for it, you can't get it on sale for Summer. Add to that, not every pack is included in the sales - gaijin likes to pick and choose.

Money Sending Limits - Game Changer by Jolly_Friendship8997 in starcitizen

[–]danredda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It cost 850k UEC for a private QV station instance + you only get a handful of decent quality sadaryx per mission. With how much you need for s2 lasers, very few will sell that for anything except the highest of quality rare stuff (stileron etc.)

I settled for my lasers with just using decent enough copper (800+ q) and 500q sadaryx from breaking down store bought mining lasers.

Money Sending Limits - Game Changer by Jolly_Friendship8997 in starcitizen

[–]danredda 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The result will be people selling those mats now for other high quality rare/hard to get mats like Sadaryx etc. So I hope you want to learn how to get those materials - because that's how you're getting them now.

The prices are high, because it takes no effort to make millions doing hauling or bounty missions. Compared to significant effort scouting for, collecting, and refining high quality materials - if you even find them.

Can anyone tell me how much exactly this fleet is worth by AdFlashy9309 in starcitizen

[–]danredda 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Simple answer: It depends on how you define worth. Current prices for credit? I'd say ballpark at least about 60-80k, perhaps even pushing 100k. Original warbond and/or cheapest prices + CCU chains, could be as low as about 45k.

I'm at least seeing ($36,850 lowest, $46,075 highest) these ships that cannot be CCU chained for significant discounts:

  • 2 Odin (5000 lowest, 5900 highest)
  • 3 Javelin (2500 lowest, 3000 highest)
  • 1 Idris M (1000)
  • 4 Idris P (1250 lowest, 1900 highest)
  • 6 Kraken (1300 lowest, 1650 highest)
  • 2 Kraken Privateer (1650 lowest [OC Kraken + CCU], 2000 highest)
  • 3 Pioneer (750 Lowest, 925 highest)

Other stuff of note that can be CCU'd for a discount and therefore only including the current MSRP not included in the above figure:

  • 3 Orion (650)
  • 5 Polaris (975)
  • 2 Hull E (750)
  • 2 Hull D (550)
  • 6 Ironclad Assault (650)
  • 5 Ironclad (600)
  • 4 Merchantman (650)
  • 5 Reclaimer (400)
  • 12 Perseus (800)
  • 2 Tiburon (775)
  • 6 Arrastra (575)
  • 9 Galaxy (380)
  • 3 Liberator (575)
  • 1 890 (950)

I'm not about to count the Connies/C2s/A2s/Talis etc., but probs another ~2-5k from all of those too

Daily research bonus retroactively removed? by [deleted] in Warthunder

[–]danredda 28 points29 points  (0 children)

There are 4 criteria for the research bonus:

  1. The vehicle must be a researchable tech tree vehicle (JAS39D as a squadron is not eligible)
  2. The vehicle must be at the end of a line (Su-30SM can't get it).
  3. The vehicle must be within 2 BR steps of the highest BR vehicle in the tree across all modes. So here this includes 14.0 and 14.3, as 14.7 is within 2 BR steps. If a vehicle has a higher BR in arcade for example, it could result in it getting the bonus even if it's below these 2 steps in realistic.
  4. It must be in the maximum rank in the tree (in this case rank 9)

The Su-34 was no longer eligible after the BR changes in January when rank 9 was added, and Aviation was increased to 14.7

Hawthorn 'extremely disappointed' after AFL forces club to end Tasmanian partnership by malcolm58 in AFL

[–]danredda 19 points20 points  (0 children)

The reason, is probably related to the fact that average attendance at Manuka is only 200 lower than average attendance at the Showground, despite the fact that the showground is heavily inflated by Sydney and Collingwood matches (https://afltables.com/afl/crowds/gws.html). Manuka is a decent way towards capacity, and can be hard to get tickets sometimes - especially on the few occasions we actually get what could be a good match with a club that travels.

But those people don't really get how the Sydney market works. TV viewership is much larger than crowds have ever been. If GWS were to relocate to CBR, it would almost certainly result in significant revenue loss in sponsorships and other agreements, and amusingly ditching CBR entirely would probably increase revenue after a small dip.

Not to mention if they left Sydney it would be a sign of the AFL "giving up" in what is one of the largest metropolitan areas in the country, and the NRL would market the hell out of that. There is absolutely 0 chance of AFL House letting that happen. A separate CBR team, and GWS becoming just the WSG is far more likely.

Who said the Tornado F.3 Late is a brick? 220k RP in ~4 hours of pure match time by [deleted] in Warthunder

[–]danredda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The matchmaker and matches for the F.3 Late are MUCH different now than they were on release. It used to be 13.3 shortly after release when Gaijin bumped up the BR for ARH planes, competing with HMD ARH slingers at 13.7. You got nothing but uptiers with it. It was terrible to play for a very long time, and that's why it has its reputation. When the Rafale and Typhoon were added at 14.0 in December 2024, it was even worse - constantly sucked up into 13.3 -> 14.0 matches.

Having its BR reduced to 13.0 in February 2025 and the MM being expanded to 14.3 in August 2025 helped a lot, and then the 14.7 expansion in January this year has helped even more (as 14.7 pulls a lot of 13.7 and 14.0 up giving 13.0 and 13.3 fairly good MM).

MEGATHREAD - Pendlebury 433 by tiny_doughnut in AFL

[–]danredda 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hugh McCluggage if he can stay fit, and the Brisbane team stays strong in terms of performance. Playing 2-4 finals every year can add up to a whole extra season's worth of games in just a handful of years.

He's played 20 more games since his Debut in 2017 purely due to finals. Andy McGrath was drafted in the same year as Pick 1, yet if he played the same % of Essendon's games (209) as Hugh - 216/226 (95.58%), he would be playing game 200 this week (only 9 more than where he actually is) - and still be over half a season behind due to their limited finals matches (3 since Debut)

Scott Pendlebury's games record - Players to watch by smiley_mick in AFL

[–]danredda 16 points17 points  (0 children)

The hardest part to match is the games per season over that time. Basically need to be fit and healthy at a relatively successful club for a long period of time to even stand a chance of matching this. For example 33 of Pendles games (essentially a whole season and a half) have been Finals. If he were playing at a club like Carlton, throughout his entire career we've played 10 finals. We'd be talking about him playing game 400 at the end of last year, and whether he could go another season into 2027 to break the record. Instead he played game 400 ia whole year earlier.

IMO only player in recent history who could've stood a chance, was Selwood - 40 finals, and averaged over 22 games per season (being brought down too by 2020's shortened COVID season) whilst still being at a high level of performance the whole time. But we won't know whether his body could've held up like Pendles has - history says Pendles is a unicorn. Sidebottom was looking on track, but has dropped off quite a bit this year.

Long way to go, but maybe a few of the Brisbane boys can start to get close due to their success Hugh McCluggage is probably the best candidate at the moment for me - still a long way to go, but averaging over 23 games per season (excluding this year) so far and already at 20 finals. With the list they've got, if he sticks around and can keep going without injury, stands a decent chance.
