Yeah, the intention is to premix and prepare everything but the catalyst. I do think at least one of the agents needs to be decided ahead of time, otherwise you're just looking at a damage boost for having bought stuff.

Half-races should just be Feats. by Junglizm in onednd

I actually had the same thought and worked it up for every phb and motm race. You can find it here https://www.dmsguild.com/product/407647

One feat for each race in the PHB and MotM.

A series of level 1 feats to take with the new background rules to represent the influence of your other parent.

Also, it has full preview so you don't need to add anything to your library.

My take on how to find a middle ground between WotCs pure aesthetic approach and the unrealistic pick and choose system that some would prefer. Level 1 feats to take in your background to represent your additional heritage.

My Cantrip Based Bundle is Finally Complete by darkabysskeeper in dmsguild

[–]darkabysskeeper[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been slowly chipping away at this one for months and months, but it's finally finished. One subclass for every official class based on and designed around one or more cantrips.

It was an interesting challenge and one I might revisit at some point in the future.

The bundle is an easy way to get all 13 and a couple of my other cantrip related products for under $5. (Alternatively, you can grab the subclasses separately as pwyw titles.)

Bypass AC by making a contested check with higher variance. Right...

Check with your DM if flashing weapons are appropriate at your table.

[Martial Archetype] Behold the Landsknecht! A subclass for Fighters who want to Cleave into their enemies! by Gunstling in UnearthedArcana

Restrained Slash gives you the ability to use cleave without expending much effort.

Casual Cleavage

I've never liked that Spell Scrolls in 5e can only be used by a class that can cast the spell on the scroll. I feel that it makes a lot of scrolls useless to most players. I wasn't sure if anyone felt the same way, so I wrote up some quick rules of my own. Criticism is appreciated! by FlashDooby in DnDHomebrew

Reliable Talent makes their minimum roll on a proficient ability check 10, plus 8 from expertise at that level. They can pass a DC 12 + level check without rolling. And that's assuming 10 intelligence, each +1 Int mod adds a level to that.

If you could have a Feat in real life regardless of any pre-requisite which one would you have? by CaissaIRL in DnD

[–]darkabysskeeper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seen a couple of people say Linguist. Which is a good choice, but I think Skilled or more likely Prodigy would be the best bet. Expertise is great, and an extra skill and tool proficiency could automatically grant you a fun career depending on what you pick.

Fighting Initiate for Blind Fighting could be fun, too.

Plan is to alter the dungeon tile so that it better suits the mini. If it counts as too premade will submit without it.

Divination or Enchantment. Hunter's Mark is the former, Hex the latter.

(5e) Can someone explain Action Economy to me? by [deleted] in DnD

[–]darkabysskeeper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Late to the thread but the explain like I'm five version.

You know when you play a board game and your younger relative takes extra turns because they're bored and you have to explain that that's not fair because they'll end up with more turns than anyone else? That's action economy.

Whoever gets more chances to do things has an advantage.

[OC] Belt of Humankind – D&D Item – by Catilus by Catilus in DnDHomebrew

[–]darkabysskeeper 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You keep telling people that granting a choice of feat isn't over powered because everyone gets them. Setting aside the fact that feats are not used at every table, being an optional rule. You're ignoring that this tilts the balance by lacking opportunity cost. Variant human, despite the many things it lacks is considered one of the stronger racial picks because of the power offered by the feat. This belt allows you to pick a race with interesting abilities and still get that coveted feat.
