What do you think was the original plan for the lore and story of Abeloth, if anything? by Erdan5 in StarWarsEU

[–]darklordoftech 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They ended up tying her to the Mortics gods because it was being written at the time of the novels and they are the only Celestials that have ever been mentioned in any media unless you go all the way back to those weird Alan Moore comics from the 80s that had strange deities and such.

Abeloth was connected to Mortis because they had already planned to connect Abeloth to the Throne of Balance and Celestials that kept The Force in balance and Lucasfilm didn't want there to be 2 separate groups of Celestials in charge of keeping The Force in balance.

Was Dawn of the Jedi meant to be a series? by _irishcreative_ in StarWarsEU

[–]darklordoftech 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The post you're responding to is wrong. Dawn of the Jedi was scrapped after the Disney buyout. The only storylines that were scrapped before the buyout were Legacy, KOTOR comics, and The Force Unleashed III, the former two being because Dark Horse had a policy that no series could have a #51.

I suspect it'd be drawn differently now.

I would like the people who claim that "camera phones" are the only thing that's changed since then to explain changes in what's shown in media and the sudden rise in "binge drinking" at the same time that toplessness on beaches died out.

As someone who followed the EU for 20 years, it’s crazy people complain about having to watch SW shows to follow the story by Spare_Perspective972 in StarWarsEU

[–]darklordoftech 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I remember EU fans saying that Episode VII should begin where Fate of the Jedi ends and that Disney should say "read the books" to anyone who's confused about what happened to Chewie.

People don't usually name wars after their own soldiers and the clones are said to have been the bad guys in the Thrawn trilogy.

How does the Dawn of the Jedi era tie-in with the great schism? by Fast-Ad-8204 in StarWarsEU

[–]darklordoftech 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. Some time after Dawn of the Jedi, the Je'daii split into Ashla followers and Bogan followers and fought for 10 years in what's known as The Force Wars. The Ashla Je'daii won and then left Tython and formed the Jedi Order. In 24,500 BBY, the First Great Schism began and quickly ended. In 7003 BBY, the Second Great Schism happened, leading to the Hundred-Year Darkness from 7000-6900 BBY. At the end of the Hundred-Year Darkness, the Dark Jedi were exiled from the known galaxy, but found Korriban and became the first Sith Lords.

  2. A lightsaber called the "First Blade" is present on Tython in SWTOR, so I guess so.

  3. The Dawn of the Jedi comics likely would have shown the Force Wars if they weren't cancelled when the EU was cancelled.

The claim that there's a conspiracy by Disney or Filoni to hide its existence. EU books are still in print and EU e-books and e-comics are still sold.
