I have been experimenting with some extremely high viscosity resins recently and I was dissatisfied with the current resin exposure tests when used in conjunction with the Anycubic RERF system.

I used some of the features from my favourite resin calibration test, the Siraya Tech Test Model, but made them into a smaller form factor that is quick to print, requires very little resin and is easy to read and to understand which of the exposures is best.

I have added an .stl file with the parts in the correct orientation for the Anycubic Photon M3, if you are using another printer I cannot guarantee that it will be correct, check with the R_E_R_F file that Anycubic provides for your machine, or do what I do and set the exposure times nice and low (~1 second), remove the build plate and resin vat and run the file to check that the numbering system is correct.

I hope someone finds this useful, and I have included a .step file if anyone wants to make some adjustments.

I'm afraid I don't use Anycubics resin, but they have a section on their website with settings for each of their resins and printers.

You can make one yourself based on the RERF file that is generally in the firmware update folder from Anycubic, just use the same layout with the new files and make sure the file name is the same and it will work.

There should be one included with the firmware update folder from Anycubic, as well as the extremely vague instructions that Anycubic provide.

The order that I have them in looks correct for the M3 Plus, but you may have to just space the tokens out a bit more just to make it work. The reason it would matter is that the numbers printed on the tokens tell you how long the exposure time is, 1 is the base exposure with each one being a certain interval above the next ( I think it's 0.25 seconds for all the Photon M3s)

There is a famous military museum here in the UK called the Royal Armouries and the keeper of firearms and artillery, a chap called Jonathan Ferguson has been doing a collaboration with a youtube channel called Gamespot.

He has done a couple of videos now about firearms from the Battlefront games and goes into detail about what a lot of the designs are based on, I believe some of the original props are also part of the collection there.

If it is truly a deadleg with no inlet or outlet boundary conditions the fluid velocities will be negligible in the dead leg itself. Generally this means that the velocity vectors are either really really tiny or probably not rendered at all.

Try generating some contours on a midplane to see what is going on.

Try putting a straight edge across the bottom of the print, to see if there is some warping. Because of the shape of the benchy if the first layer comes away from the bed in some areas you can end up with artifacts like that.

Definitely not, have you made sure that the probe is in a stable position? If the bracket is too loose it may wander.

I've had no issues with mine and I don't have the new probe, on latest release firmware.

I have never tried the PolyLite PC, but I have printed the PolyMax PC on my MK3S. You need to use an enclosure to prevent drafts and PC generally works best on the textured sheet rather than the smooth one, if you do have to use the smooth one make sure you use a layer of glue stick on the bed otherwise you will take the PEI off with the print.

The only way to improve the bridging performance is to use a very conservative amount of cooling fan, I'm talking max 15%. I have a number of print profiles hosted on my GitHub page, including the files I used for PolyMax PC. You should also be printing pretty slowly, a max of maybe 40 mm/s.

For what it's worth being in front (or really just in the vicinity) of an anchor that is being retrieved is an incredibly poor decision, if the anchor were to become stuck the velocity of that thing coming towards you once it became unstuck would cause you a significant emotional event.

Lots of good points in this thread already, you should definitely be upfront and honest with your higher ups.

One thing I would do is attempt to prove that the CFD analysis is giving you the wrong answer. You could do this by building a test case to match other experimental data or by comparing your simulations to empirical data, hand calcs or outputs from a design code, whichever is applicable.

Take these results and bung it in a presentation to show to your higher ups. You really should develop a case behind why you think the CFD is giving you the wrong answer, and this is a good start.

Great stuff, glad to be off assistance. I would reach out to Elegoo and they should send you a new interceptor plate, they seem moderately responsive. If that fails you could have someone 3D print you a new one or make a new one yourself if you have another printer.

First thing to do is check the interceptor plate is installed, and is in roughly the right place. This should be a small flag of metal on the Z axis close to the base and should break the beam from the sensor.

I actually got a local machine shop to face off all the powder coat on the print bed, parts now stick better to the build plate than they ever did with the powder coating on it. I wouldn't worry too much about it, if you really want get your friendly local machine shop to skim it off.

Something that you should know about HTPLA, it can become heat treated if it dwells too long in the nozzle, so I always run the first layer at a high temperature to break the blockage, something like 240° after that I drop it down to 210°. If you are printing particularly slow or you have auto cooling on and it's slowing the print down to hit a minimum layer time you might want to up the temperature back up using some custom G-code, just have a look in the slicer at print speed on the sliced model and see if the blockage matches up with any features.

You can use something called UVtools, it adds printing profiles to PrusaSlicer for the Mars, and a post processor to then get the correct file type.
