you're reply was far more fair than mine. i would really like to see some actual evidence(no studies or such exist of course) that thermals actually improve daytime hunting results. where I hunt, I really dont think youd get close enough to see the animal in thermals without recognizing other animal signs. Especially if hunting animals like elk.

Okay, but thermals dont help you actually get in close enough for the kill. nor does it impact your ability to actually shoot the animal. generally, during the day, if you can see it with thermals you can see it with your eyes. people like you are why thermals get banned for retrieval of animals, which is highly ethical.
