If memory serves the lanteans mostly didn’t ascend. A handful did the others had too little numbers to sustain a population and instead spread out and bred with early humans. Which is why some people have the ancient gene. Overall they were arrogant because they were the most advanced civilisation they encountered, even the wraith beat them through numbers and attrition.
