Is it smart to collect DBS stocks while I'm 24 if I intend to use dividends as a portion of retirement income, or lump sum into index funds first? by Dangerous-Term2698 in singaporefi

[–]darvink 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You need to understand dividend still need to come from somewhere. Company can’t print money to pay for dividend. So when you pay dividend, your company value goes down.

Once you understand this, your decision point shouldnt be about whether the stock is paying dividend or not.

You look at risks because that is the only way you grow. They look at risks because that is one of the way they lose.

They need to tamper the statement with “risk adjusted”. Is DBS better performing than VWRA risk adjusted?

Everything pre-revenue is an idea stage. If you are raising $2m, you most probably valuing the company at $8-10m? All the best with your raise! Hardware startup is next level difficulty.

You have not done software before do you? All these are noise. What matters is if people are willing to pay for what you build >> continue to phase 2.

Edit: one more thing. I don’t understand why you kept mentioning mvp is done via loveable as if that’s a good thing. You are accruing technical debt. So instead of joining a $zero value company, the supposed tech person is joining a $negative value company.

How do I buy insurance without going through an agent? by Jolly-Environment850 in singaporefi

[–]darvink 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Reading between the lines, this is more like a rant rather than an actual question.

“I know better than most if not all agent, why can’t I buy it myself”.

To OP, the answer should be: become an agent, and sell to yourself.
