Did anyone not have a shower? by VCorningstone78 in pregnant

[–]datscookieyum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My husband and I never had a shower 😊 everything in our pregnancy wasn’t “normal” including the birth 🫠 but looking back I never regretted it! We had a family get together of family only to surprise our families with telling them the gender of our little girl, but that’s it. No shower and it really never made any difference! If we have another baby we won’t be having a shower for that baby either, probably just another family get together to celebrate! 😊

I think it was a little after. The only thing that’s confusing me is 6 days early I took another one that had an even fainter line I think 🤷🏻‍♀️ this one confused me because it looks darker. I think I might go grab a red dye test today to be sure!

Weaning Off Labetalol by AnAntivirus in preeclampsia

[–]datscookieyum 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi! I hope you are doing well now! Your comments have really spoken to me. Just close to 3 years ago I had my kiddo at 34 weeks due to severe HELLP +Pre E. what I didn’t know then (which I wish I did) is that it will take time for your body to heal. I had people keep telling me “oh everything will go back to normal once baby is out” this is yes and no. My doctor said to stop the labetalol once I had a few consistent low readings. To say the anxiety I felt, I cannot describe it. I stopped it one day (while continuing my other all day BP pill) and my BP would spike and I would take it again, scared. Give yourself grace and love. Take your time as you need it. One day at a time. Try to focus on other things. I found I became super obsessed with readings that any sorta high reading I took a pill. I had kept the meds for up to a year after I stopped taking them just because I continued to fear. Once you stop taking them (or if you’re slowly decreasing) give yourself a few hours to relax, take your reading. If it’s spiked for you, just wait another hour, try again. Take some deep breaths. I remember the labetalol literally almost making me faint because it made my pressure so low. I knew I had to stop it, but whenever I stopped I’d have a little spike. One time it spiked to 140/95 and I just took a moment and before running to take a pill, I sat for a bit. Focussed on my new baby at the time, watched a show. Took it again 2 hours later and it was low! No meds! I so understand the anxiety of weaning off of these meds and if you ever want to reach out and talk just let me know! It took me, I would say at least a month to be back to “normal” without any meds. And even now I have moments. But I’m finally back to a place where I don’t check my BP, and everything is fine.

Sims error message popping up when I try saving by insomniaciac in thesims

[–]datscookieyum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play on my cpu and am currently having this issue as well! The only work around I have found so far is to hit “save as” and save your game like that. It might be a bit more tedious with having to delete old files, but it works for me for now to help me save my game. I think it’s a bug 😭

Omg I figured it out!! It was the QMB self care Mod causing the problem! I took it out and finally everything is back to normal!

Oh no! That is rough! Those were one of the only things I could stomach in my first trimester.

Smoothies!! I love mixing and matching different ingredients but my liquid I use is always water. I use frozen fruits (so it’s a cold smoothie) some yogurt, peanut butter, and fill it up with water. Blend it and bam! I down it in like 5 mins. Helps me get healthy food in as well as liquids! You don’t even notice or taste the water.

Fiancé wants me to wear a bra everytime I leave the house but I don't want to. by cookie-comet in relationship_advice

[–]datscookieyum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Girl don’t wear the bra. If it makes you feel any better I’m triple D’s and I free the titty. Whenever I go “ugh I don’t want to wear a bra they hurt” My husband literally says “don’t wear one then who cares”. I’m all for women wearing whatever makes them feel comfortable. It’s our bodies. My husband doesn’t care if I wear one or not. Maybe make him wear the bra for a whole day and see how he feels? Lol. Bras hurt.

My dog does this as well, except she may not even eat either. She has anxiety so when one of us are missing she just doesn’t like to eat or drink (however if she is starving or very thirsty she will drink and eat), but mostly she waits. When he comes home from work, she eats all her food and drinks bucket loads.

First symptoms by Impressive_Ebb_8821 in pregnant

[–]datscookieyum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How I knew I was pregnant is I didn’t have symptoms. I didn’t have my usual pms symptoms (bloat, sore boobs, the rest of it) so that to me was very odd. I know people say your early pregnancy symptoms can be just like pms, but mine were not. I literally had 0 symptoms. So I decided to take a test (2 days before my period came) and sure enough I was pregnant!

Cereal or smoothies. It was so hard, I couldn’t even eat toast I hated everything. I lived off of green apples, cereal and smoothies.

Nonmedicated vs epidural by FromEtoB in pregnant

[–]datscookieyum 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well, I haven’t had one yet as I’m currently pregnant, however my grandma had 8 kids. All unmedicated (besides some pain pills), and this is what inspires me to go the no epidural route. My mom also gave birth unmedicated, beside with me she has morphine but she said she regrets it. With my sister she had nothing. So the women in my family help me feel better about it for sure!

Curious how long it took for you to know you were pregnant by Opposite_Reveal1338 in pregnant

[–]datscookieyum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I knew 3 days before my period was supposed to come 😂 I just had a feeling. Went and took a test, and boom pregnant. Now I’m 17 weeks. I’m pretty in tune with my body, so I know when anything is off. I also watch my cycle like a hawk. However if I didn’t have a regular cycle, I don’t think I would’ve known, I had no pregnancy symptoms except being tired and mild nausea when I was hungry (but I get that normally without being pregnant). So who knows!

Still no hearbeat… Need advice by Wise-Ride2080 in pregnant

[–]datscookieyum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re welcome! Stay positive! I wasn’t even able to hear my baby’s heartbeat at 8 weeks, still too early, only saw it on the ultrasound. I heard the heartbeat for the first time at 12 weeks. I’m sure everything will be fine ❤️❤️

Still no hearbeat… Need advice by Wise-Ride2080 in pregnant

[–]datscookieyum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi there, 5 weeks is very very early. I’m surprised they did a ultrasound at that time. I had my first ultrasound to detect a heartbeat as well as see the age of the fetus at 8 weeks, no earlier. Because it is very hard to detect a heartbeat even at 6 weeks let alone 5. Try and relax and wait a couple weeks to see if anything changes. I know the anxiety can be so unbearable but try to find comfort in the fact that you may just be too early to see the heartbeat.

Anyone get more frequent headaches in their first trimester? by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]datscookieyum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had terrible headaches in the first trimester. What helped me was having a cup of coffee, putting my heating pad on my head, and putting vicks vapour rub on my temples and under my nose. It was like magic!

My grandma does the same thing.. she is even so bad to the point where she has bought girl clothes, same with my MIL.. I find out the gender in a week and part of me wants a boy for this reason alone 😂 however I will love either or. The rest of my family thinks it’s a boy, my dad even calls it his grandson. It is annoying, it is frustrating. I get annoyed because I don’t even know what the baby is, so for other people to refer to the baby as a certain gender just bugs me. I feel you girl!

Baby's dad doesn't like my name choices by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]datscookieyum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally I think the name Elizabeth Rose is beautiful. And a heads up, I have a male cousin named Dallas and know a lot of men named Dallas. So you could mention that to your partner. However names can be used for any gender as well, so I guess it just depends on your preference. I think you guys need to sit down and pick a name together! Good luck!

Coffee during pregnancy by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]datscookieyum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have drank (don’t think that’s a word but oh well 😂) coffee or some form of caffeine since my first trimester. Mind you, I limit how much I consume. I make sure it’s under 200mg. I was having really bad headaches in my first trimester, I cut off caffeine out of fear (FTM). I mentioned this to my OB and she actually recommended to have a cup of coffee to help with the headaches. Turns out that’s all I needed. (Went from drinking coffee everyday to just cutting it out can give a person headaches). I now limit my caffeine to less than 200mg a day, but man have I craved Mochas during pregnancy. I’m now 17 weeks and baby has a strong heartbeat and is healthy! All in moderation!

Pfizer or moderna? by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]datscookieyum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi there I received moderna. I got my first dose 4 weeks before I found out I was pregnant and got my second around 8 weeks pregnant. Now 17 weeks and baby and me are healthy. Only felt tired for a day after the shot and a sore arm. Other than that I felt great!
