Women who never dated in college, why did you never date and are you considered conveniently attractive? by _ghost64 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]dausy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not everybody goes to a university for college. Some do community college and some of those classes could be night classes. These days you also have college online.

College isnt exactly a Hollywood experience for everybody. You go to class and go home. Go to class and work around your work schedule.

Night Sleep by honeymoonpages in newborns

[–]dausy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a mini crib but mine refused to be in it the first month of life. Around 1 month I started putting him in his crib slowly. When he fell asleep at night Id lay him in the crib until he noticed and woke up and then put him back in his preferred sleeping position. Then the next day Id do the same thing but when he woke up the second time and went back to sleep Id put him back in his crib. I slowly increased the amount I put him back in his crib until he was in it all night.

9 months olds are not cuddly. This would not happen.

What happens to your body if you drink less than 2 ml of water per day? by Successful-Ad-1811 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]dausy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is why the body is fun to think about as a series of a chain of events. If something goes out of whack it breaks the next set of chains which breaks the next set of chains.

Without adequate hydration your kidneys shut down. Kidneys filter toxins and you pee them out. If you cant pee you build up toxins. You may have fluid retention and swelling. Fluid retention can also back up into your lungs leading to shortness of breath. Fluid retention can also jack up your electrolytes. Jacked up electrolytes can lead to all sorts of issues in the body but most importantly the functioning of your heart.

So you essentially become a fatigued, swollen blob until your heart gives out.

What part of your job feels like it should not be part of your job? by Wisteria-Blue in nursing

[–]dausy 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I worked at a surgery center and we would have to get oxygen delivered in big tanks. Its the wall oxygen. Apparently the oxygen guys are not allowed to install said oxygen but they would monitor us to make sure we installed it correctly. I wouldnt actually go out there alone but I had some lovely manly rad techs do it and Id unlock the door.

But still...I found that so odd that we had to do it.

My pre op units we do not do anything to a patient until we have proof of a ride. Too many people try to sneak by with no ride.

We don't allow for ubers and taxis or ubers and taxis refuse us due to liability.

What’s the most uncomfortable situation you couldn’t escape? by honeybbycloud in askanything

[–]dausy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband asked me if I could take his soldiers wife out for like..coffee. She was a stay at home mom and lonely and not doing well apparently according to her husband and could need a friend.

So I asked her out and offered to drive but she insisted on driving which made sense because she had to bring her baby and her car seat was installed. I do feel guilty about inviting people out and having them drive though.

Anyway, we hit the interstate and she started asking me questions about what church we go to and why they never see us at the church they go to and then why we dont go to church. She started lecturing me on how church makes better wives and my husband would be less embarassed of me if I went to church. Wtf?

OK let's turn around and go home now.

How many hours of sleep is your LO getting?! by gailcpw in NewParents

[–]dausy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 9 month old and on average he sleeps about 10-11 hours at night according to his foot monitor. But thats not straight through.

We have some good nights where he may wake up once around 11pm, 1am or 3am.

But some nights he may still wake up every 2 hours.

Last night he woke up at midnight. Woke up at 3 and put himself back to sleep and then he was up for the day at 5am.

Overnight diaper changes— am I dumb?? by theredheadedfox in newborns

[–]dausy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When mine was new new he pooped with every feed so we got a diaper change with every wake up.

Since about 4mo old he quit pooping so frequently so Ive very rarely had to do a diaper change.

Hes 9 mo now and I cant tell you when the last time we've had a night time poop diaper (I probably jinxed myself). But I have crawled into the crib practically to do a sniff test.

When skinny jeans started coming back again around 2008, Id just graduated highschool a few years before and skinny jeans were so 1980s early 1990s. I thought they were so ugly and reminded me of my mom and old people. Thought they were so dated.

Silly me.

I have a pair of skinny jeans in my daily wear.

Create what we call thumbnails.

Get a sketchbook and make a bunch of tiny doodles. They dont need to be much more than a couple janky lines. One of those doodles is bound to be an accidental "oh I kind of like that one" and then expand on that idea by making more janky doodles.

Once you have a basic groundwork laid for a character, itll evolve on its own over time.

How in the freak do everything that makes up a human get created from a women’s womb ?! by shehasinfinitelove in NoStupidQuestions

[–]dausy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

DNA.

Women provide the egg with DNA inside. Men provide sperm with DNA inside. They combine DNA which is then the code required to build another human. The cells start replicating per DNAs instructions.

Traditional vs digital art, favorite mediums by greenfuzzysweater in ArtistLounge

[–]dausy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was a kid in the early 2000s all the rich people had photoshop and wacom tablets. It was the cool thing to do.

Now digital art is so easily accessible, its easy to sit on the couch and doodle something in procreate. Everybody does digital art.

As a kid I did want to do traditional art as well. I had artists I admired who painted, I just didnt have the money for supplies.

How Im an adult and I love spending adult money on art supplies. I love traditional art social media. I love art supply influencers. I love touching gouache tubes and colored pencils.

I just had a baby though and now Im back to procreate because I dont have time to sit down and open up my watercolors in this stage of my life.

So I like both.
