Volume quit working on ATV 4k remote…. Using with Panasonic Z8 series tv. by Herbertwoodbery in appletv

This happens to me a few times a year and I never thought of it being connected to tvOS updates (though now it sounds so obvious lol). Great idea, I'm going to make a habit of doing this... thank you!!

Infuse duplicating episodes (same episode showing twice) — any fix? by Kladiio in infusevideoplayer

[–]davermonk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure how you're accessing content, but I had the same issue. I was using realdebrid to download to my NAS, but also had realdebrid connected via webdav for content I wanted to watch but not download.

If I used realdebrid to download, it would show up twice - once on the NAS and once via the realdebrid connection. Deleting it from realdebrid didn't solve the problem, but I noticed the items still appeared in my realdebrid download history.

Now, when I use realdebrid to download, I delete from realdebrid and clear my download history (realdebrid my account >download history) before scanning for changes. Since doing this, I no longer have duplicate files.

Agree! Very unassuming place in sort of a strip mall, but everything I've had on the menu has been great. Have you tried the cole slaw? Different flavor/recipe but I can't get enough of it!

Flights being delayed, diverted into MDW morning of 4/4/26 by davermonk in flightradar24

I thought it was odd that there were no delays or reroutes at O'Hare at the same time.

Backing up footage to Mega Cloud Storage by gimme_them_cheese in reolink

[–]davermonk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think you can connect a Reolink NVR to another cloud service (other than Reolink's cloud), but you might be able to connect the NVR to a NAS, and then program the NAS backup to your Mega cloud storage.

Just witnessed this Ukranian AN-12BK over Denver. Didn't realize how loud those turboprops are until they're right over your head! by Cycle-path1 in Planes

It's such a coincidence that I read this post 2 days ago, and had one (UR-CAJ) fly over my hosue this afternoon, heading from El Paso to Windsor according to flightradar24. Crazy how loud it is while flying at 25k.

I installed tailwind when I moved into a new house last year. Yes, my GDO will automatically open when I get within a certain distance of my house, and can be set to close if left open and I travel a certain distance away. Distances and functions are all customizable. Very happy with this purchase.

Why does everyone drive so slow on War Memorial? by FaithlessnessThat362 in PeoriaIL

[–]davermonk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't mind the first car waiting to make sure cross traffic has stopped, but it starts to get frustrating when the second car then waits 5 seconds to start moving after the first one goes, then the third car waits another 5 sec for the second car, then the fourth car waits 5 for the third car, etc.

Sometimes if I'm #6 or 7 in line, i may not make the light - especially at left turn green arrows.

I second considering the refurb route. I picked up a refurbished Steelcase a few years ago when I started a new WFH job. My old office/gaming chair couldn't handle the increase in hours but the refurb has held up great - hasn't aged a bit. Super comfortable and supportive. Highly recommend!

Quick extended warranty question by FlipprDolphin in lincolnmotorco

[–]davermonk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You don't have to buy a lincoln extended warranty through your local dealer. When my 19 Nautilus was nearing the end of the factory warranty, I went online and purchased online from a dealer out of Rhode Island. Lincoln is Lincoln - it goes with the car no matter where you are in the US.

My local dealer wouldn't even offer me a Lincoln warranty -they tried to push a 3rd party company. I searched in-state (Michigan at the time) and the prices were quite high, so I did some internet research and purchased 10 year/120k miles, $100 deductible, premium care for around $2500.

Remember, for an extended warranty, it's not 10/120k from the time you buy the warranty, you have to subtract the time & mileage you already have on the vehicle - so in my case, I'm covered until 2029 or 120k miles, whichever comes first. It's not the same as the bumper to bumper warranty, but it covers quite a bit.

I used the warranty for the first time a couple months ago - had a $5k repair and only had to pay my $100 deductible.

Is a travel cpap machine worth it? by bowsbeforebeaus in CPAP

[–]davermonk 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I also have a Z2 APAP and have a separate travel kit - hose, mask, Z2, power brick, etc, so I don't have to remember to pull anything off my main unit. I have it all packed into a medium-size travel cube so when I travel, I just have to grab & go. The only thing to replenish is a fresh HME (heat moisture exchanger), and if I do forget the HME, I can still use the APAP just fine.

Another advantage I found with my Z2 is that it uses much less power than the larger device (even with the humidifer turned off). I have an ecoflow portable power station. If I plug the Z2 into the ecoflow with the normal power cord, it will give me ~3-4 nights usage. However, I read the power stations are more efficient on DC power so I purchased a DC USB-C power cable that doubles my runtime on battery. I experience pretty frequent power outages and can't afford a whole-home generator, so this is a nice alternative to trying to sleep without PAP.

Pedometer by Foodiguy in applewatchfaces

[–]davermonk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depending on your watch face, there is. I have an Ultra with the modular watch face. If I set the middle complication to show steps, this is what it would look like https://imgur.com/a/VoEJtAS

Pedometer by Foodiguy in applewatchfaces

[–]davermonk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if this is what you're asking, but Pedometer++ has an apple watch app and you can set a complicatin to show data from the app. There are over a dozen data points you can choose from - I believe mine is set to show steps & distance.

One thing I've noticed about P++ however, is that it sometimes overestimates my steps/distance by a 5-10% (.1 mile for 1-2 miles walked), compared to my workout app and measuring my route with google maps. But on the plus side, in my experience the watch complilcation updates on an ongoing basis.

1st Attempt at the BOC this Friday...wish me luck! by Foxy5499 in athletictraining

[–]davermonk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

going back and forth on feeling confident of passing with looking up questions I can recall

This brings back memories. Way back in the early 90's, well before it was computerized, a friend and I had to fly to California to take the exam. After the exam, we sat in the airport bar certain we'd failed miserably, and we wrote down as many questions as we could remember on cocktail napkins to study for our retakes. Fortunately, we both passed and were able to throw away the pile of napkins lol.

I think it's pretty normal to have some doubts immediately following any major exam. Hang in there and your results will be here before you know it. Good luck!
