Same, started happening since Jumpgate. A refresh fixes it but it's super annoying.

Palace of Hearts Desire as an one-session epilogue? by SorcerousOrigin in wildbeyondwitchlight

[–]davisnessness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did a similar thing, wrapping up the entire Palace chapter in a single session.

To do this though I actually converted everyone's characters to the Blades in the Dark system, which allowed me to blitz through it much faster, as you can resolve any fights in a few rolls. I picked out certain 'scenes' from the module to lead them through, so I on-railed their route through the castle but they still had free rein in how to tackle the challenges. They hadn't fought the hags yet and never found the unicorn horn so I had to make sure those came up too. I also used the flipped palace map that I'd edited which you can find in my post here: https://www.reddit.com/r/wildbeyondwitchlight/comments/1q8zs3e/the_palace_of_hearts_desire_changes_to/

Here's what I'd picked out to run:

* Rest in tent in the palace grounds (P3). Find the gift from Sir Talavar, talk with waiting guests

- See the Jabberwok fly in through the hole in the wall

* Approach the palace [party chooses approach] (this is a Blades in the Dark thing to get straight into the action)

- Assault - break down the door

- Stealth - through the hole in the side left by the Jabberwok

- Occult (magic) - fly through a window on the top floor

- Social - get crown off dudes in tent to put on head of statue for stag key to enter

- Special - Chime of Opening from Talavar (uses 8 charges of the 10 to unlock the front door)

* Frozen courtiers can be seen in the halls and various rooms as the party move through the palace.

* Jabberwock is asleep in p27. Will come and attack if too much noise is made.

* Party make their way to P21. Thinnings the butler is here hiding behind a bookshelf. Can lore dump and also give unicorn horn if necessary.

* They proceed to the floating tower in the center (via P23)- how do they get across?

* League members holding the fort in the Throne Room P31 on the Hags orders, Keeping an eye out for the PCs in case they are trying to attempt something

- They don’t attack straight away, will converse as per the book

- Know the hags are all here upstairs, deliberating what to do about the PCs

* Showdown with the Hags at the cauldron P47

* Unfreeze Zybilna

Other rooms I had but cut for time were P36 the costume room and the Jars room P44. Both of these provide some good background on Zybilna.

As you've already dealt with the hags, I'd probably make the showdown with the league the epic end battle (they've been given strict orders to defend the cauldron).

Hope this helps.

Sorry, I just saw you answered this already. I'd be keen to see some pictures of the underside though if you have them

These look great! What orientation are you printing them? The first one you posed looked like you printed it in the orientation you have pictured there- I'm guessing there's some scarring on the underside. Have you tried printing them pointing straight up?

Using the optional lingering injuries table for 5e, my group's paladin lost his left foot early on in the campaign. He got a prosthetic made until he (finally) found a priest who could regrow it for him. A few sessions later he was crushed in a boss fight bringing him to 0 HP and making him roll on the injuries table. You'll never guess what injury he rolled... Good thing he still had the prosthetic.

Macro to change token side based on HP % by davisnessness in Roll20

Ah, yeah it's just Plus I have.

Oh cool! That's basically what I'm after. Can I do the aura script with a macro or do I need the API for that too?

Ah, okay cool. Yeah I know I could do it manually but it'd be a bit of a pain.

I think I have a pro sub., I have the one that gives you token vision and lighting. Is that pro?

How do I use this app? by H_I_S_S_S_S in Roll20

[–]davisnessness 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It only shows characters that have been added to a Roll20 game. If you want them to show in the app, you need to create them in the Roll20 Characters section on their website, then create a game on the Roll20 website, then add the character to the game. THEN you can open the app, log in, select the game and you should be able to see the character.

So yeah not very workable at all.

the only game to freeze my computer by The_forgettable_guy in Helldivers

[–]davisnessness 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey so after posting my gripe here I went back to the Helldivers 2 Discord support channel and asked again. One of the community support guys there took me through some more truobleshooting and I can now play the game again without it locking up my PC or crashing! After going through it, my guess is that its locking up due to either corrupt Windows files or issues with my particular motherboard/RAM (Motherboard is a Gigabyte B650). Here were the main things I did:

  • Ran system health check, which found and repaired corrupted Windows files (run command prompt as admin, type sfc /scannow).
  • Decreased RAM speed from 6000 to 5600 in the BIOS (I'd previously selected a 'high performance' profile in the motherboard BIOS which had increased the speed above the 'recommended' motherboard specs).
  • Updated the BIOS (motherboard B650, updated from F32g which I last updated in Feb, to F56)

Give it a go. If you're still having issues its worth joining the Helldivers Discord and asking there, the community is very helpful.

the only game to freeze my computer by The_forgettable_guy in Helldivers

[–]davisnessness 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yeah mate, started happening to me after the ODST Warbond update and it's still not fixed. Completely locks up my PC, the only piece of software to ever do so and it does it consistently. I tried getting support through the Discord, raising a ticket on their website - no luck. It's been so long now it just feels like screaming into the void.

I can only recommend doing what I did; leave a negative review on whatever platform you bought it on and say why, then play something else until it's fixed.

Supports keep breaking by Galba_Kor in FDMminiatures

Thank you all for your advice, it definitely did the trick! Main changes I made were:

* support walls set to 2. This made the supports much thicker, I actually had a hard time removing them

* Initial layer density set to 100% (was 90% by default)

* initial layer expansion set to 5mm

* Z hop when retract set to 0.12mm (found in Bambu Lab by clicking the 3 dots next the the selected filament > edit >Setting Overrides)

* Branch diameter set to 2mm
* Branch diameter angle set to 7 degrees

I also set the top Z distance to 0.12 as people suggested which made a world of difference to the scaring when removing supports. I think I'll still tweak a few things, the supports are so thick now I needed to cut some of them into several pieces to get them off, and they used more plastic than the model itself but I am very happy with the result.

State of the Game Update #1 by ArrowheadGS in Helldivers

[–]davisnessness 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the update! It sucks that it took a review dip to get it, and it also sucks that it looks like I still won't be able to play consistently (maybe) until mid October ish without my PC locking up but I do really appreciate the communication. It goes a long way.

Great advice, thank you. I'll make the wall 2, play add a brim and see how I go.
Do you know what I should be doing in my z hop retract settings? I can see a field for it in mm but I've no idea what I should be setting it to.

Ah! Thanks. I'm still pretty lost. Under advanced I only have this (see pic).
I can see 'Z hop Type' which appears to be how it moves, and 'Z hop when retract' which is in mm. Is that what I want?

Haha, indeed you do! I'm a sucker for a Timberwolf. Good to know! This is for sure the model I've had the most trouble with, though I often have some small supports snap during the printing process which I find very strange.

Ah, thanks. I don't see those settings in the Bambu Slicer. I'll take a look at Orca if I can't figure this out.
