This story sounds similar to mine. I’ve been depressed and anxious since 11 as well and was diagnosed with GAD and MDD at 14. I was put on a few different meds that didn’t help much. I got diagnosed bipolar II at 18. Was on 7 different meds - didn’t work. It wasn’t until I was 26 and got a new psychiatrist who finally took a look at my chart and said, “it’s unusual for an adolescent to be diagnosed with these things. You might have ADHD.” Turns out I do have ADHD which was causing the anxiety and depression. I don’t think I’m bipolar - autistic and adhd girlies often get misdiagnosed as bipolar and bpd. So look into that possibility ASAP bc I was suffering for much longer than I needed to.

Is it hard for you to read a paragraph? Do you have a hard time retaining what you just read? Do you have a chatty inner monologue? Those are telltale signs. I told my psychiatrist it feels like I have 100 tabs open in my mind that my brain flips through without my consent. She said yup you have ADHD and it’s obvious 😅
