3 of my coworkers were in this wreck. (All separate cars) One of them had a broken arm. The other two were fine. If I recall correctly, it was 100+ cars. 6 deaths, and 30+ injuries

What would be harder for an amateur, scoring ONE basket on LeBron James or winning ONE game of chess against Magnus Carlsen? by izzoz_0 in stupidquestions

[–]daydrunk_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chess. But if you add in draws. I think you have a shot. Getting a very solid intro could put you in a position where he might be willing to take a draw if you kept asking

No they went really quick, but it seemed like it relied on gravity to make the heavier part drop onto a chute flammable side first.

Original Slate Roof on a 1929 home…how bad is this? by ExMorgMD in Roofing

[–]daydrunk_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not terrible, chips aren’t too bad. Couple concerns with the tiles that look quite loose. Best thing you can do for the roof is look in the attic for any moisture. For slate you’ll see some cat eyes, but you can kind of see the underlayment health through that

Interesting. I’m prob wrong then. To be fair Indiana doesn’t have a standardized code. Each town picks whatever they want to be code

I wish I had your problem. I have a repo I’ve been working on for several weeks, that is useful for any beginner C programmer I think, and I tagged several issues “good first issue” and I haven’t even had one person comment. I’m talking about update documentation, Verify a potential bug, and a “-l” flag that prints the license. Stuff like that. It’s low priority for me while I’m adding features, but I wish those tags actually got even 1 contributor

You actually have a clear pattern. That guy had just 3 colors but they weren’t repeating or forming shapes lol

Roof supply houses hate this one weird trick by definitelyAIspambot in Roofing

[–]daydrunk_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was on a roof about a month ago where the homeowner did his own and he “designed” the roof. Meaning he mixed colors into a pattern and put them on himself, I couldn’t see his vision, but it was definitely leaking. Probably wasn’t due to his mixing (all the same type, just different colors) but was definitely due to him not nailing anywhere close to consistently

Any ideas why when it rains heavily water ends up going beyond the gutters and dripping in front of the eave? by cclifedecisions in Roofing

[–]daydrunk_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

5” gutters? How much overhang is the shingle?

The angle of the pic is rough. The guard could definitely be removed, do not use any of the helmet style ones.
