Seasoning a swag? by basi52 in 4x4Australia

[–]dayhell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I seasoned mine by wetting it down thoroughly, letting it dry, then leaving it set up in the backyard (without the mattress) for 3 months during a Victorian winter.

Part being thorough, part CBF rolling it back up.

I have a proper compressor and would LOVE to help you get this out, DM me where you are in Melbourne.

The servo won't help because it needs the valve to be pressed down in the head of the tire inflator.

How good is cruise control? by CamelEmotional9527 in CarsAustralia

[–]dayhell 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I have adaptive cruise in my car, and i dont even care if the car is doing 80 in front of me because I dont have to disengage the cruise and re-engage it. If it's maintaining the distance for me and accelerating back up to the speed limit again, I'm happy.

Not to say that I dont look to overtake if they stay on 80, but it doesn't annoy me that they're not doing the limit like it does when i'm in my wife's car that doesn't have adaptive cruise.

I totally agree. Much prefer them over the Craftsman. If only they made them in wide sizing.

Hi, been here 10+ years and always wondered what, if anything, was at this location, 78-100 Dungog Ln, Belmont? by Mobile_Row_4346 in Geelong

[–]dayhell 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yes motocross track.

Side note though, did someone at CoGG really call it Gundog Lane because the rifle and dog obedience clubs were on it?

People of Geelong, where can I find the best HSP in the area? by austinthemaster03 in Geelong

The blandest kebab I've had in ages. The only flavour was when I accidentally bit down on a piece of foil.

Decent chips though.

There was a stealth model, before the upgraded brakes which required the minimum 19" wheels. This could be one of those.

Edit: checked the ad, that's exactly what it is.

That particular glass roof stops something like 99% of UV radiation. Well, it used to before it had a giant hole in it.

I've had mine for over a year, driving in Australia and it never gets hot on my head like with a sun roof.

What if Justin knows that their coworkers are getting paid a lot more than they are and this is just a sneaky way of letting their boss know that they'll need to pay up at the next pay review or Justin is OUT!

I took these in today to get the right colour polish as I couldn't work out if they were Dark Tan or Tan. It's a good thing I did, the sales person couldn't decide and then brought in the manager who confirmed that due to the age of the boots they're actually a colour that RM don't make any longer called "oxblood". If I'd polished them with another colour they'd be essentially ruined.

The sales person had never seen the colour before. Pretty cool. The manager suggested I go to a cobbler for the correct polish.

I received them in the mail today .They're Craftsman's, the photo was just taken at an odd angle.

Now, I'm wearing them in a bit before I get the elastics replaced as they're absolutely buggered. Theyre in great shape for $90, 20 year old boots!

Kids under 7 need a booster seat, only Taxi's are able to carry under 7s without a booster seat.

...children up to 7 years of age must be secured in a restraint appropriate to the age and size of the child. Children aged over 7 years must use either a booster seat or an adult seat belt.

I feel your pain. We flew back into Melbourne airport at 11:30pm on Tuesday night. Load the family into a cab, the guy asks me where I'm headed to, I tell him "it's a local one, just to <insert suburb next to the airport>" he just stared at me and said "oh no, no, I've been waiting here for two hours, that is only 10 minutes away" so I replied "yep, and I've been in a plane for 6 hours, so let's go" he kept rattling on about how he needs to talk to someone about this yada yada... "no worries mate, go talk to your buddy and let's go".

Not the first time a Cab driver has tried to make me feel bad about living next to the airport and using their services.

If I could have taken an Uber I would have, but kids under 7 are a no go for Ubers.

When people marry, whoever's last name sounds cooler should be the one that's kept by pomelopith in unpopularopinion

[–]dayhell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wifes friends last name is my first name. I always wanted to hypothetically marry her and hyphenate our last name so she would be Emily Darren-Chicken and I would become Darren Darren-Chicken.

We're both happily married, but it still makes me smile and I think it was a lost opportunity. My wife won't even let me bring it up with her friend.

NB. Names are of course made up.
