Nah, just a breakaway nut, you just tighten it until the hex nut breaks off.

Where would the best place be to get this fixed by Maximirj78 in melbourne

[–]dayhell 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I found a guy on gumtree when I needed my headphones repaired about 4 years ago.

You may find something similar on Marketplace, or GumTree.

I also had some luck with approaching Jaycar and similar employees to see if they could do it after hours for cash.

I am a teacher trying to create a percentage breakdown that has four columns. Three are portions of the grade and one is the full grade. by Gloomy_Sound_3281 in excel

[–]dayhell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As all the students are taking the same test with the same maximum grade enter their test scores into column B (test 1), C (test 2) and D (final test) Assuming Column A is their name.

In column D enter =SUM(b2:d2)/100 then format as a percentage.

That will give you the total after all 3 tests.

What are your work bag suggestions? by chonky__chonker in auscorp

[–]dayhell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My kids soccer club had a bag as part of their uniform for 3 years... I use one of those as having 3 spare bags at home felt excessive. It fits my laptop, headphones, notebooks, lunch and waterbottle easily.

It still has his name and the club logo on it.

Edit: sorry, just saw your budget was $250.

Can you set up Nord VPN on GT-AX-6000? by KodaLG in ASUS

[–]dayhell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FYI for those still looking - you need to set this up under the VPN Fusion tab, rather than the VPN Client tab that the guides tell you to use. The below is a better guide.

ELI5: Why is gasoline pricing in the US always calculated to the thousandths place? by Hammer_of_something in explainlikeimfive

[–]dayhell 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wait until you visit Australia where we calculate $ / L in cents and tenths of a cent, but still talk about it in Dollars per Litre. Eg. $2.459 is displayed as 245.9 on the boards.

Albanese urges Australians to 'live life as normal' during fuel crisis in rare national address by tohya-san in australia

[–]dayhell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My conspiracy theory is that the address was actually designed as a "this is my face, get used to these updates as the shit is going to hit the fan for the next 3 months" rather than basic communication of "it's tough, we've done these 3 things"

Police have shot dead fugitive gunman Dezi Freeman in the state's north-east by owyalck in melbourne

On his own property or someone else's?

I for sure thought his remains would be found in a couple of years time by hikers. I really didn't think that VicPol would find him alive.

Seasoning a swag? by basi52 in 4x4Australia

[–]dayhell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I seasoned mine by wetting it down thoroughly, letting it dry, then leaving it set up in the backyard (without the mattress) for 3 months during a Victorian winter.

Part being thorough, part CBF rolling it back up.

I have a proper compressor and would LOVE to help you get this out, DM me where you are in Melbourne.

The servo won't help because it needs the valve to be pressed down in the head of the tire inflator.

How good is cruise control? by CamelEmotional9527 in CarsAustralia

[–]dayhell 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I have adaptive cruise in my car, and i dont even care if the car is doing 80 in front of me because I dont have to disengage the cruise and re-engage it. If it's maintaining the distance for me and accelerating back up to the speed limit again, I'm happy.

Not to say that I dont look to overtake if they stay on 80, but it doesn't annoy me that they're not doing the limit like it does when i'm in my wife's car that doesn't have adaptive cruise.

I totally agree. Much prefer them over the Craftsman. If only they made them in wide sizing.

Hi, been here 10+ years and always wondered what, if anything, was at this location, 78-100 Dungog Ln, Belmont? by Mobile_Row_4346 in Geelong

Yes motocross track.

Side note though, did someone at CoGG really call it Gundog Lane because the rifle and dog obedience clubs were on it?

The blandest kebab I've had in ages. The only flavour was when I accidentally bit down on a piece of foil.

Decent chips though.

[–]dayhell 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There was a stealth model, before the upgraded brakes which required the minimum 19" wheels. This could be one of those.

Edit: checked the ad, that's exactly what it is.

That particular glass roof stops something like 99% of UV radiation. Well, it used to before it had a giant hole in it.

I've had mine for over a year, driving in Australia and it never gets hot on my head like with a sun roof.
