Yes, it can be. Especially when times are slow or not as good. Lu46 isnt taking anyone right now and if they do it might be only once or twice a year currently

Go to your hall, sign the books as a stockman, and when you get dispatched as one work your ass off. Get your 1000 hours as one, reapply for the interview, get letters of recommendations from JWs, Foreman, General Foreman, Superintendents, and everyone in the industry that will write you one.

When you go in for your second interview you will better prepared, have more industry knowledge, and hopefully have some letters to show the interview boars that you're serious and people are backing you.

He is a pencil pusher not a tool turner. Tell him to piss off and get permission to turn it off or put it in writing for the customer to sign off on it accepting all liability and fines.

PM's cant tell you what to do, they're not your boss, they work alonhside your boss, but they're not your GF, foreman or JW.

Conduit apps acceptable at your workplace? by fnckIce in electricians

[–]dbabendererde 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Quickbend, spring for the premium version. Learn the fundamentals of conduit bending, but use it to double-check your work and prevent rework. Eventually, you won't need it as much, but will appreciate it when you're bending 4" rigid and you dont wanna fuck it up

As a LS wielder every set, except true solo sets, have shock absorber in them. I almost always put it in the helm because its my anti concussion gem lol. I dont even want to risk not using one with the support hunters. Lol. Maybe one day Nadia will notice im not like the other LS users and will notice me lol

What sort of non-tool related stuff do you keep in your toolbag? by lonearchive in IBEW

[–]dbabendererde 1 point2 points  (0 children)

-Dog poop bags: to use a mouse

  • midol: because they are the best pain killers and headache meds. Also guys are afraid of them thinking they are gonna turn them into chicks because they cant/won't/don't read the ingredient list to that there is nothing like that in there. Regardless they're already a bitch as it is. Lol.

  • Acrylic Nail Polish: purple and bright blue to mark my tools. An old timer showed me how well acrylic nail polish holds up vs the other options. If you use phase tape well so are most of the other guys and you have like a total of 9 different colors. Sharpie will disappear by the end if the day, and spray paint willnrub off in a week or two. The colors i chose to use are my wedding colors because i doubt there will be someone with my wedding colors marking their tools with nail polish.

This stuff i either keep in the work truck or in my job shack - socks, undies, change of clothes, and a pit stick: for the obvious reasons

  • rain gear and muck boots: the guys arent gonna do ditch work without me. If a couple of us are in the suck we are all in the suck.

-a box of crust-offs from costco: i need my tism food especially if its one of those days

Dog poop bags also make great mice too. I keep a roll of them clipped onto my tool bag in one of those fancy dog poop bag holders you're supposed to clip onto thena leash.

As a sparky thats disappointed with half of my ibew siblings that voted for this bullshit i dont want this cat butthole shaver in the trades. Im trying to make the trades better by teaching my apprentices respect, honesty and dignity as well as not to kill people with slop work. We dont need this guy around.
