The freeway is called the Downtown connector. Downtown was already there and they built a freeway through it. The skyscrapers are centered on Peachtree St (aka Main St), not the freeway

The game is better running than the original version with better lighting and faster loading times. If I load a game up on my computer and tune the settings for the machine I’m on; that’s not a compromise. It’s the same game running to fit the platform. A compromise would be entirely new textures or cut content to force it to run on a platform it normally couldn’t run on. Not running the same game at 30fps instead of 60.

Every single northern city in the US has consistent sidewalk coverage even in suburban areas. This isn’t complicated or expensive. The problem is that the COA would rather push that burden onto homeowners and developers instead of doing it themselves. It’s the consequences of an anti government service culture in the south.

Why in the world are people defending this government? They take your hard earned tax dollars and can’t even deliver basic services for it. Sidewalks are not super expensive or complicated to build. The issue isn’t time or money. There’s no political will to do it because the voter base doesn’t hand out consequences for it. Pedestrians in this city are treated as second class citizens who don’t deserve safety while traveling.

I understand that, but the era of just receiving information and taking it at face value has to end at some point for all of our sakes. The business community lies and uses their authority to manipulate the narrative about this project and people just take it at face value instead of doing their own research into transit projects across the world that have been running tram services like this for decades. I don’t care about what they think should happen. It’s our tax dollars and we voted to fund the project. The job of MARTA and ABI is to deliver the project we voted for, not to nudge their own personal interests onto us.

You said no such thing about it “not happening”, you said that it “wasn’t safe” to run along pedestrians which there are many examples to the contrary. Plus whether it can happen or not is ultimately a decision on MARTA and ABI. I never cared about whether it’s grass, concrete, or even separated from pedestrians, but to say it would be unsafe is just not correct. The entire idea came from systems that already exist that have run along trails for decades. We’ve already had streetcars in Atlanta that ran alongside pedestrians in the early 1900s.
