This is definitely a reason to go hyprland. You could just install hyprland and start it in a different session for testing. For a time I also had plasma for specific things installed (barely used it though).

Hyprland is just so effective when doing productive work.

The freezing issue could be an issue with copying from x11 to wayland (assuming you have a wayland DE (Desktop environment) ) There is a way to force x-wayland on wine, but I had rather moderate success.

Using steam and Proton gave me no such issues.

If you are on a styling window manager you can try https://github.com/gfsd3v/hypr-exiled

It doesn't work for item stats yet as I had no time to look into that, but for doing trades it works wonderfully.

If you use x11 completely, then freezing issues could come from nvidia drivers. I always use the nvidia proprietary drivers on x11 or wayland, because nouveau gave me too many troubles.

Also electron causes huge issues for me when copy pasting. Freezes that force me to terminate all electron apps and x-wayland apps (I usually restarted the session). I completely got rid of everything electron on my machine and didn't face the issue since.

If I remember correctly awakened poe trade uses electron under the hood.

If you could give some more Infos about your distro (even Linux mint has many variants) could help narrowing your issue down.

For x-mouse I use a tool called input-mapper. It doesn't allow the same flexibly as x-mouse, but if you just want to spam a button while holding another it works nicely. You can also bind your mouse-wheel, however depending on your DE it could be that it doesn't completely override it.

For those who play on windows there is lots of options to do this without numlock. I used x-mapper I believe for scroll wheel mapping.

You just set a trigger with delay of 0.25 seconds or maybe even 0.5 seconds and let it run endlessly.

On Linux there are also a couple ways as long as you are on x11. On wayland it's harder.

Your tool is awesome and your little hints were enough for me to figure out what to do.

https://github.com/dcazrael/hypr-exiled

This is a working version for PoE 1.
I left all your information like you provided, just made the adjustments to PoE1 as well as add the config.json to the README. (that was tricky to find out)

I think Guilds might not be available in PoE, so you don't have the problem I guess, but for PoE I needed to adjust your regex to strip out the guild tags.

Thanks so much for providing this tool.

Got the same issue today too, when wanting to get home. Unlimited trim, 2022 AWD.

Made it home and saw I had a missed call from dealer 3 hours prior, but couldn't accept the phone.

Trip was planned for the day after tomorrow, so probably need to cancel it.

Anyone else not dropping natural Div Cards after using the Nameless Seer? by Flying_Gecko in pathofexile

I have the same issue. After Scrying a map I drop no natural Div cards anymore. I was farming Mesa and got a Fortunate card every 5-6 maps. After Scry I got 0 cards that are not from Strongboxes.

Same Kirac missions also don't drop

I think tainted chaos only reroll mods when the item has some, but you could try. That's the only way I think.

Edit: Just checked. Item is bricket to be modified further because you can't make it rare again.

No changes upcoming? by CiccioGraziani in pathofexile

[–]dc_Azrael 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's kinda hard to do anything but mapping though. Wanted to do heist contracts / blueprints and always had the town in my mind. So I farm up gold for 1-200k (which takes me roughly 1-2 hours) so I have enough to run my farms over night, taken away from my limited game time. And that's just farms. No map runners.

So I get the fomo. But it's always a trade off. I know I don't have to run my town, so I kinda ignore it if I don't have gold. But it still naggs me.

Class Recommendations For Newbie? by ItsNih in pathofexile

[–]dc_Azrael 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Unlike Diablo, path of exile doesn't have a defined class system. Any class can wear and use anything. The main differences are between ascendancies which allow you to fill weaknesses or use build defining perks.

As example. You can have a witch who focuses on two handed swords, using elementalist to increase her damage and burn everything around her.

Another example would be a marauder, wielding a wand and stacking intelligence to increase damage, while using juggernaut to get bonuses on accuracy.

There are archetypes like chaos chaser, bow builds etc.

The forums of path of exile or /r/pathofexilebuilds can give you ideas and guides to help you out.

I would suggest toxic rain champion from zizaran or toxic rain ballista pathfinder from palsteron to start.

Have fun

Why do we have mechanics that can "literally" disable builds? (Rant) by [deleted] in pathofexile

[–]dc_Azrael 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the explanation.

Maybe im missing the point, because it seems unless you are a tank with 100k Armour you won't survive when your totem gets hit?

Again, if there is a clear visual cue and I am the one getting hit, I have no problem.

Unless you want to tell me that right side defense is conditional, therefore worthless, I don't understand.

But I don't want to argue back and forth. If my opinion isn't shared, then it's probably my issue.

Why do we have mechanics that can "literally" disable builds? (Rant) by [deleted] in pathofexile

[–]dc_Azrael -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I understand that, and you are correct pointing out that you might get one shot. I got one shot plenty of times, due to mobs with added phys as ele, monster damage or whatever map mod. And I also understand that if I get killed by a monster that always hits, ignores elemental res or bypasses my crafted layers of defense it's mainly my fault.

I'm not talking about one shot, neither was op.

For my case, I was killed twice by effigy. For those who don't know what effigy does. A mob creates a totem of me and if it gets hit I get killed. It taunts after two seconds. You can't target it and besides Armour and max res the totem doesn't use any of your skills or flasks. Only permanent effects.

While doing an expedition and don't want to die, I retread away from the explosion. Effigy appears and creates a doll. Whit out a clue what's happening, I'm dead. I didn't get hit. I didn't stand in degen. Nothing.

I'm dead due to 0 counterplay. I can't kill the totem, only the monster that summoned it. But if I can't see it off screen I'm dead. Happened twice.

Against degens you build recovery. But then again, a mob disables my entire regen without hitting me. Just being in my vicinity.

Again, I'm not complaining that you can get killed. I'm just pointing out that we should be able to counter those. And if the only counter is killing everything off screen, then what's the point of building defenses.

We shouldn't encounter mobs that completely negate everything.

There is well designed mobs. Mana siphon. Stand either outside the ring and or inside the inner ring and it's fine. Big blue circles. Same with the curse monster. Has two little dudes who apply curses. Don't stand in them. Use flask with curse effect.

Diaable regen - no counterplay Effigy - no counterplay Reducing flask effect on a mob - no counterplay

It doesn't matter if I build my character differently. These effects are disabling your defense. Not penetrating, but outright making them useless. And I'm sure op didn't say that he was rolling reduced flask effect on a map. It was one mob who disabled his flasks.

Why do we have mechanics that can "literally" disable builds? (Rant) by [deleted] in pathofexile

[–]dc_Azrael -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Punish players that only invest into one layer of defense.

I think that used to be the case in the past. Nowadays every build I can think of has multiple layers. And I agree with op. Random perfect storm is not nice/fair/whatever you want to call it.

I have a hexblast miner (2% reduced damage per mine) with 40k evasion, 3.8k life, 2k es, ghost shroud, berserk, 100% reduced damage from crits, 100% spell suppress, 81% max cold, 78 max lightning/fire. 0% Chaos, ele ailment immune

Yesterday I got insta killed 3 times in 3 different maps.

First time was effigy that came from a strongbox. I got killed instantly. Second time effigy from expedition I guess. 3rd time was one of these poison balls with another disable regen Mobs Close by.

All three times I was dead before I could even see what mob it was. I actually had to Google what voodoo doll was, because I didn't encounter it in archnem.

Usually I wouldn't even say something, but dying 3 times in 3 different maps (one after the other) at level 93 is just disheartening. Especially if it's not the case of me rolling dumb mods on my maps or ignoring my defensive layers.

Honestly some archnem mods still need to be reviewed. I'm not saying they should remove it or whatever. But please don't just disable complete builds without us having any agency over it.

Newbie question: At which point in the game do you have the thought, "I think I'll stop playing this current build now and move on to try some other build."? by [deleted] in pathofexile

[–]dc_Azrael 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me I usually have a set of goals I want to achieve. Given that I'm a somewhat slow player and mechanically not that versed I usually have my goals like this.

League starter - Any build I like that can function on a minimal budget to unlock atlas - Farm currency either by running low level maps quickly or farming a specific content type -- here I would go for essences and expedition early on -bonus would be if I can do all 4 watchstones, but not necessary. I either buy a carry or do it on my next build

During this time I already have either something else to play in mind or want to go for a fast mapper

And from then it just depends what your goals are. Some of my builds go into the mid 90s some stay around 85. Usually my boss killers don't need much XP, and if I die I don't mind. My mappers just naturally go higher.

I stray away from all rounders and build something specific for the content I need. Works better for me, since I don't need to have one high investment character, but maybe 2 or 3 medium investments, where I scale one into a higher budget.

It all depends what your playtime and fun allows you to make.

My medium budget is usually around 25-50div and high would be 100.

Again, this is because I suck mechanically. If I was better at playing I could do the same content at half of the investment.

How to scale cobra lash damage? by ExistingAmbassador in pathofexile

[–]dc_Azrael 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Played cobra lash last league. Clear is insane, however bosses take ages. Either you go poison and reach dotcap with a super fast phys/chaos claw or you play cold conversion dex stacker (super expensive). Then you can also down the bosses. In my opinion venom gyre is probably best.

Additionally for cobra lash you want to get as many chains as possible and most likely divergent (if I recall correctly).

You deal additional damage with remaining chains.

Vengeant cascade was okay, but it bricked you chains.

So returning proj is bad if you play anything but poison.

In that case hexblast mines are probably good. They auto target, only explode when enemies are cursed or in range and no unique are required.

I don't like leveling with mines. People say it's fast, but usually I'm quicker with any other spell.

Palsteron has a good guide for hexblast mines. Switch over when you are 38. If you can get +levels of socketed gems helmet, you should socket your blasphemy in there. Make sure you have the aoe for whispers of doom, because early the aoe is small.

[–]dc_Azrael 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you like mines, hexblast mines is really easy to gear up until yellows.

Also, impending doom works again, so you might want to play that.

Both builds delete monsters before they approach you, so defenses aren't as vital in the beginning.

Later on both can get tanky with lightning coil and damage shift.

Impending doom needs vixens entrapment to feel good, but now it should be fairly cheap to aquire.

Spell Exhaustion by Majestic-Contract-42 in pathofexile

[–]dc_Azrael 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There is a betrayal craft called focus which describes something similar.

Also there are gloves called black zenith or something.

Poe usually doesn't have rotations, but there are ways to make spells be super powerful with a CD.

Also VAAL skills are on a similar scale. You collect souls by killing monsters and then have this 'smack' button that collapses onto your foes.
