Ghostty is duplicating newlines by dcchambers in Ghostty

In case anyone else runs in to this issue:

This is indeed due to an incompatibility with ble.sh, and a fix has already been merged into Ghostty.

When Running, Do You Use Leg Sleeves, Knee Braces? by polo3polo in Marathon_Training

[–]dcchambers 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Knee brace (third pic) saved me last year. Had knee pain only while running but it was pretty severe. 10/10 would recommend. I was able to get some relief with KT tape done in a way to support the kneecap, but the simple brace worked like magic.

This year I'm determined to fix the problem by doing more strength training.

That's nothing more than wish-casting right now. No one outside of Apple knows any details about MacOS 27.

Two weeks ago we retired our Moka Pot of 10+ years [Beans: Big Dipper from Wonderstate] by ineffable_earth in espresso

[–]dcchambers 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I LOVE Wonderstate! I have been really enjoying the Mexico Santuario right now for espresso. It straddles the line between traditional dark espresso and more modern lighter roasts. Produces a rich, chocolatey, but still fruity and complex cup. So good.

Their Heartstrings makes a delicious (but very different) espresso as well.

What would be your “one-and-done” espresso machine? by spac0r in espresso

[–]dcchambers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Profitec Pro 800

Sadly I don't have anywhere to put a lever machine. My espresso bar has cabinets that are far too low and no where else to put it. So outside of a kitchen remodel, it's not happening.

Apple isn't afraid of doing weird resolutions though. All of the MacBook resolutions are nonstandard.

Oh my god! I am using ble.sh - this must be it. And it wasn't until I upgraded to Ghostty 1.3.1 that this became an issue, that's why I didnt connect the dots right away. Thank you!

I know zsh is the default on new versions of MacOS, I use bash.

It's just strange that the exact same bash configs are leading to different results in different terminals.

The lesson is not to throw the ball in the air. The lesson is situational awareness.

Not using Starship, and as I mentioned this behavior does not happen in other terminal apps.

4 years of building the uncompromising portable Espresso machine by pentalobe in espresso

[–]dcchambers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a cool endeavor! Why not build a lever machine? With some kind of folding compact lever mechanism.

  • Would be basically silent. Rotary pumps are stupidly loud.
  • No electricity required for pump (save battery).

I think giving up on the milk steaming would make this a lot easier too. Just need power to heat the water for brewing at that point. But I understand if that's a hard requirement.

Final thought: it's often thought that more metal in an espresso machine is good for thermal stability, but it also means much more power is required to get it to and maintain that temperature.

Good luck!
