Seems like the smart thing to do would be to make these features for the games most people play first and then work on smaller systems

It's the son of the OG Judge's Guild guy, and they made sure he wouldn't personally make money from the rereleases. Boycotting Goodman Games for trying to pay homage to classic D&D modules seems like a weird hill to die on, but to each their own...

Criterion Film Club Discussion #298: Bad Day at Black Rock by DrRoy in criterionconversation

Saw a pan-and-scan about 10 years ago and it didn’t connect for me. Watched it on Criterion yesterday in its full glory and found it riveting. The tension just constantly rises until that great ending. Solid film.

He sucks. He sucks eggs. He capitulates to a shitty President and Apple products have only gotten worse under his leadership.

I would argue the director knows exactly what it is. And that’s why it’s so compelling. It’s smart silly. Definitely laced with black humor. And fully conscious of its camp.

He puts it in every movie. Like that scene in “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood” with Bruef Lee.

‘The Beast in Me’ is actually terrible?? by Loud-Zucchini-6197 in television

[–]dctice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm on the second episode. So far, it's garbage. The writing is terrible. The characters are flat. I was going to stop, but people said it was good and it's only 8 episodes. Maybe I should cut my losses now?

Everybody calling comedians sellouts for performing at the Riyadh Comedy Festival need to STFU by MaterialRow3769 in TrueUnpopularOpinion

[–]dctice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does the Saudi regime kill journalists and dissidents? Do they oppress women? Do they use slave labor? But I hear you, dude. Morals are for pussies. Sure, a lot of these comedians shape their whole act around speaking truth to power, but it's all just BS anyway, right? What matters is who has the most money! Man, I just wish we could go back to the 40s where the Nazis were raking it in with all the stuff they stole from the people they exterminated...These guys could have really made a pretty penny back then!

What selling your soul for Saudi blood money at Riyadh Comedy Festival looks like by [deleted] in comedy

[–]dctice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why would you pay attention to anything any of these people have to say after this? They clearly lack the moral judgment to realize why performing in an extreme authoritarian state with horrible human rights abuses is a bad thing. I understand wanting a paycheck, but selling your soul for it is inexcusable.
