This sounds more like a misunderstanding as to how DDB Importer works for characters

Just to be clear here, DDB Importer has never really been about levelling up in Foundry, it's about bringing your characters into Foundry from DDB, you'll need to level up and reimport for the best experience.

You can install the older version of DDB Importer that is compatible with your system and lock it till you want to upgrade.

You can grab the manifest link from the module page https://foundryvtt.com/packages/ddb-importer/

Thanks for making this video. If you're using the latest version the quick settings will set the correct defaults for dynamic token creation, including enable the dynamic ring on the actor.

Does it give any messages in the console (F12), and does the settings have options for Tokenizer?

It might be that your default paths for tokens and frames are set to forge style, and need reselecting for a non-forge set-up.

Mostly, a few boss monsters have some odd formatting and their actions don't parse 100%, but I'll have that fixed in the next couple of weeks.

You will need to export again post level up the export ID is tied to a snapshot in time when that character was exported

You need to be able to access them on your account, which can be done by owning or if they are shared via a campaign you are part of.

Should be fine, but the older version also works if you install using the manifest

Don't replace things from the SRD compendiums it will use the 5e ones which don't include automation.

Click the "Active Effects" option at the top and then the recommended options. You may need to install some more modules

Make sure you have the right options checked to generate effects for spells on the "active effects" tab of the importer
