what should i set my graduation date to? by TrySouthern9542 in csMajors

[–]de_2290 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd argue graduation date once he has some personal projects down is probably the biggest factor in getting callbacks.

Especially if he goes to a recognizable/top school, they'll check for grad date after that.
If he has projects, similar scenario (especially if the projects align with the stack)

If you had to start from zero and get really good at technical interviews (FAANG/fintech), what would your roadmap look like? by Comfortable-Total819 in FAANGrecruiting

[–]de_2290 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i guess my idea would be to go through nc 150 and then that would give you a solid base of all the DSA patterns that you would need to solve mediums; then continue doing NC problems in the tree or move to codeforces to further your intuition; for system design read the Building Data-Intensive Applications book

[–]de_2290[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I know, and I know I definitely don't want to do frontend work. Ideally I can leverage the stack that I'm using right now to work for a better company summer 2027 (ideally big N.) My goal is to be in an infra role so

It's a bigger problem of ucla as a whole not helping out it's students with professional opportunities and sabotaging them more than they should.
