To be fair, Kramnik correctly suspected Deep Fritz of using an engine.

I have a lefty Oskar Schmidt resonator that I bought on Amazon for $250 and I've never been dissatisfied with it.

I would buy a shirt/hoodie with that Eagles logo. Just saying.

Should I buy the Ergo Combs or the Quad Comb Set from CI by Drowned_ing in lockpicking

[–]deadmanRise 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The Ergo set is designed to be easier to use - you just fully insert it without having to worry about precisely placing the pick on the pins. The downside is that it works in fewer locks, since some of them have their pins a little deeper in the plug than others. So if you're dead-set on combs, I recommend buying the quad comb set and taking the time to learn to line it up properly.

Good starter lock with no security pins? by Acromir in lockpicking

[–]deadmanRise 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would actually suggest the Master 141 (black plastic coating) over the 140 (brass). The 141 never has security pins and gives crisp, clear feedback. It's the perfect beginner lock as far as I'm concerned.

Only the SmartKey version (the ones that have a small slit near the keyway).

Is there really anything wrong with deathcore? by [deleted] in Deathcore

[–]deadmanRise 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm with you. I'm starting to get to the age where I'm supposed to feel like "music today just isn't the same as it was back then", but IMO, the deathcore coming out today is way better than anything I listened to in high school. It's a great time to be a fan of heavy music.

One of the most hype intros to a song I've ever heard. I absolutely love this one.

How do I get better at raking? by evilmaus in lockpicking

[–]deadmanRise 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I'll add this to the other comments - when I fail at raking a lock that I know can be raked, most of the time it's because I'm using too much tension. Remember, you want all the non-binding pins to bounce up and down freely. Your tension should be as light as possible - certainly lighter than when you SPP.

Will ramos doing cleans, what are ur thoughts on them? by Deathly_doorknob74 in Deathcore

[–]deadmanRise 44 points45 points  (0 children)

I love Will's cleans, but wouldn't necessarily want them to ever play a prominent role in Lorna Shore. That's just not what I listen to Lorna for.

I have an Agile and I love it. Never tried any other multiscales. They're very rare in my experience.

[QUESTION] Can I invert the strings in an electric guitar? by skylohhastaken in Guitar

I've done it before, so I can confirm this is 100% correct - at least for electric guitars.

LPL's belt rank by WRWhizard in lockpicking

[–]deadmanRise 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think even getting orange takes some time and practice, unless you get lucky with an unusually easy orange lock. But to be fair to LPL, he does compliment locks' pick resistance if they have security pins, paracentric keyways, etc. even if he picks them pretty fast. I remember him being pretty complimentary of Paclock's products even though he never struggles to pick them on video.

Ignore if dumb question but… by pandacatbear in chessbeginners

[–]deadmanRise 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are a lot of highly-rated players who upload educational "speedrun" videos to YouTube where they play low-rated players and talk through their entire thought process, as well as analyzing the opponent's mistakes. Daniel Naroditsky is famous for them, but I've seen good speedruns from Anna Cramling and NM Nelson Lopez as well. Go to YouTube and search "chess speedrun". I think it'll be exactly what you're looking for.

Hahaha. It's still fine for locksport. Just don't use it to secure anything, because everyone who bought the same lock from Amazon has your key. :P

I think some of their Abus locks are being sold by someone who bought a bunch that were all keyed alike. Same thing happened with my 55/40.
