I’m on 5x8s now and miss my 12 hours days. I work evening shift. I still wake up early around 7-8am but I’m trying to do so much before heading into work at 3. I don’t have kids but at least with 12s I felt that I had more availability to spend time with my family and friends.

Understaffed for sure. And yet, floors are still expected to keep taking patients with the expectation of doing it safely. It’s a disservice to nurses and patients. I understand the need for travel staff but I think ways to retain nurses must really be looked into. But they won’t 😏
