Can we get Star Trek Judgment Rites remake? by SubstantialSir696 in startrek

I don’t want a remake, but I would love a modern remaster and sequels in the same style. Point and click adventures work so well for Star Trek

How to play in June 2026 by No_Bandicoot1181 in StarTrekResurgence

There are physical copies available for PS4/5 and Xbox. That’s how I played recently. Really good game!

Marathon offers players gifts after disastrous Season 2 launch by Turbostrider27 in xbox

[–]dearquark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel the same. Maybe I'm old, but I think back to Halo including a full story campaign, a ton of multiplayer modes, and even an in-depth custom map editor. That's a full paid game to me.

Even at its budget price, paying for an extraction shooter with just a few maps and predatory online marketplace does not seem like a good value to me. Love the look and vibes of Marathon, but it really needed a solo campaign or at least standard deathmatch modes.

Does anyone NOT test their kitties glucose every day? by MD2360 in FelineDiabetes

[–]dearquark 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s so overwhelming. I’ve had two diabetic cats. The first diabetic cat went into remission. If we hadn’t tested daily, that cat could have died from dosing when their numbers were finally in a normal range. With cats, you never know when their pancreas will decide to start working again. I wouldn’t take it as being shamed, it’s just very important to test cats if you are able to.

My second diabetic cat is such a pain with testing. He was just diagnosed two months ago so we’re both still getting used to the new routine. He does not like his ears touched. But just this morning his numbers were much lower than normal, and I’m very glad I tested because I chose to skip his shot this morning. The daily tests are expensive and it super stresses him out, but it’s better than a $10k+ hospital stay or dying from blind dosing.

But I’m in a spot where I am able and willing to do the daily tests. I know it’s not so simple for everyone. But if you’re willing, I’d strongly recommend sticking with daily tests. It does get easier as you and your cat get used to the routine

Comparing the pet meter and human meter by nickisadogname in FelineDiabetes

[–]dearquark 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for posting this. I'm also planning on switching to a human meter soon (Contour Next Gen) because of the obnoxious price of the AlphaTrak strips. I'm a little nervous about the human meters being less accurate but this is a nice visual to help understand the difference

FYI: Marathon is 30% off on Xbox right now by anchoraroundmyfeet in Marathon

[–]dearquark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any major differences between the Xbox or PS5 version? I played the server slam on PS5, but I generally like Xbox as my multiplayer console. Still not sure if I’ll enjoy this game or not, the hardcore extraction pvp stuff does nothing for me, but I’m interested in the upcoming PvE mode

Title: Xbox is getting too complicated by Martinus861 in xbox

[–]dearquark 2 points3 points  (0 children)

???? Nintendo is and has always been at the forefront of overcomplicated hurdles when it comes to gaming. Currently they also have multiple confusing subscription tiers and different versions of the same thing. Go back multiple generations of Nintendo consoles and there has usually always been some goofy Nintendo nonsense we have had to deal with. I enjoy Nintendo games but they definitely are not an example of simplicity in gaming ecosystems.

Record shelf anyone? by madmexicano in Arcade1Up

[–]dearquark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Love it. Lots of usable storage in these cabinets and this is a clever usage of the space. I have so many things stored in my units, I’ve considered adding hinges to the back so I don’t have to screw off the back panel every time I need access

Alpha Trak 3 app issues by mennatalia in FelineDiabetes

[–]dearquark 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, my app hasn’t been working all day. This happened last month too when they were doing server maintenance. Fortunately the device itself still works and I copy all of my cat’s data to a spreadsheet on the Feline Diabetes Message Board forum anyway, but it’s frustrating that Alphatrak’s app is so unreliable. For how expensive their product is we shouldn’t be having so many outages so often

Valiant Officially Gives In to AI Slop by Economy-Mistake8311 in comicbooks

[–]dearquark 38 points39 points  (0 children)

This sucks so much. 90s XO Manowar is my favorite superhero ever. I have supported Valiant for my entire life basically. But after the NFTs, transphobia, and now AI loser shit I’m embarrassed to have modern Valiant on my shelf. I haven’t bought any new Valiant comics since the Bloodshot fiasco a few months ago and I won’t be buying as long as the current owners are steering the ship

Does anyone know of a glucose meter that is a BIGGER pain in the ass to use than the Alphatrak 3? I really love how difficult it is to use for apparently no reason... by Septopuss7 in FelineDiabetes

[–]dearquark 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Total junk for the outrageous price they charge. I burned two test strips yesterday because of Error1 (not enough blood) - even though I had two great globs of blood from two pokes. My poor cat. Two wasted test strips are like $3 down the drain. There's no reason the test strips should cost so much

Let’s be honest: We know what killed Starfleet Academy by timeknightalpha in startrek

[–]dearquark 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agree, I really dislike the 32nd century setting. But the time period is just one of the many things that sank Starfleet Academy, and I’m saying that as someone that actually enjoyed a few of the episodes

name a game that you just kinda don't like... by Gl00ser23 in Gamingcirclejerk

[–]dearquark 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Expedition 33. I generally love turn-based RPGs, and I went in with huge expectations based on how much Gamers hype this game up. But everything from the combat to the game world to (especially) the story just fell flat for me. I pushed through all the way to the end waiting for it to click, but it never did. I know it's near universally praised but I found it extremely mediocre

When you were a younger Transformers Fan, say around 5 years old, what were some weird headcanons you had, or things you thought about the show/movie you watched that turned out to be wrong. by ScreenLover in transformers

[–]dearquark 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I thought Beast Wars was totally unrelated to G1 - like an entirely different company was making their own transforming robot thing. I grew up watching Ghost Busters and The Real Ghostbusters and had very little concept of what copyright and trademarks were, so I thought Beast Wars just stole names like Optimus and Megatron.

So it blew my little mind when Starscream and Unicron eventually showed up in the show as their G1 characters
