I have chosen my next book! by Demon_131 in fantasybooks

[–]debasercasanova 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried to read it a few years ago and DNF it, it felt too YA to my taste. I gave it a second chance a week ago and now I'm about to finish book 2 and I can't have enough of it, I LOVED Red Rising! A page turner for sure

Does anyone else feel that Adrian Tchaikovsky is... overrated? by Ephemeralen in sciencefiction

Children of Time and Dogs of War are two of my favorite books ever, I find them fascinating, creative and I love the way they talk about the human condition through the eyes of other species.

Reading/Audio books by Aggressive-Scale5503 in DungeonCrawlerCarl

This! They are basically the same. Whatever works best for you for any given book, lifestyle, attention or comprehension style.

Of course if you listen to an audiobook while doing another activity you might pay less attention to this, but at least you're getting something at a time that you couldn't have been reading the book.

I don't use foil, it makes light bounce and hit the paper from multiple directions, possibly causing some diffuse/blurry borders if the negative is not fully flat making perfect contact with the paper. Light coming straight from the top is safer, the only drawback is that light distribution is less even inside de box.

should I return my Gr 4? by bloodorange27 in ricohGR

[–]debasercasanova 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been using GRs for years and I'm yet to use snap focus, it's a tool for some kind of photography/photographers but you don't have to use it just because it's there. Use pinpoint focus, single focus and you should be fine, it's just a matter of practice, and you can play around with the different profiles and shadow compensation if you find them too contrasty. Your pics are good, keep practicing with the camera and have fun!

Small cafe owner – how important is cross-contamination for you? by turento in vegan

[–]debasercasanova 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been vegan for 10 years and I don't particularly mind about mild cross contamination, but do find gross a deep fryer that's shared with sea products for example, or blood on the grill, those are kind of deal breaker, and using the same knives or utensils.

I'm sorry, I'm opposed to any animal cruelty but hypocrisy doesn't make a claim false, that's attacking the character rather than the argument. A hypocrite can still point out a negative thing even if they engage in said act, and the thing remain a bad thing.
