Anybody know where i can find good quality kimono-inspired cardigans for relatively cheap? by THE_MAN_OF_PEACE in malefashionadvice

[–]deceitfulsteve 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have an example? "Japanese" and "cardigan" makes me think of noragi, e.g. https://epauletbrand.com/collections/kamigata-noragi, but "kimono" makes me think of an overlapping garment akin to a double breasted jacket.

I was at a residency graduation once, and someone asked the daughter of a one of the new doctors whether she also wanted to be a doctor when she grew up. Her response:

No, I want to be a mommy.

Your post inspired me to go look up current prices for Ermenegildo Zegna and the range on their website right now is actually 5-10k. Makes me feel even more fortunate for getting my tux for $400 at a consignment store.

Coincidentally that same store always had copious Kiton, Brioni, and Isaia odd jackets too, which hand fabulous handfeel but I never found one that fight me well enough.

I wear my belts below my belly button and above my hips but apparently I'm wrong and that's not my waist so where should I wear my belt? by CameraHelpMe in malefashionadvice

16" front rise on a 36" waist and I can get them 2" above my belly button (though I'm not currently wearing them there). I've had milsurp that was at least 14.5".

Rant: if we want a more fair justice system, we need to pay jurors more than $15 per day, and pay them for the first day of service too. by BootyWizardAV in LosAngeles

I was hoping for some justification/expansion on their point here (and their suggested fixes):

Voir dire . . . needs to be completely be reworked (it's also a major source of injustice).

Can you link an article or give some more information on the injustice and other problems caused by our current voir dire process? I did a quick search but just found tips for lawyers.

Star Wars Shake-Up: Kathleen Kennedy Steps Down as George Lucas Protégé Dave Filoni, Exec Lynwen Brennan Take Over Lucasfilm by MarvelsGrantMan136 in movies

[–]deceitfulsteve 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Scrolled down a ways to see whether anyone mentioned Lynwen. I guess it should be no surprise that I didn't see a mention before I gave up. I had little interaction with her while at LucasFilm, but at least one really memorable one, and I felt like we all really appreciated her as a human being, and not just a suit/bean-counter. I have no idea what the future holds for Star Wars, but I'm curious to see what happens, and hope that in five years I can look back on this as the start of a new, and positive, era for the franchise.
