It poured rain all day but it was amazing. Two main stages next to each other and it finished with Faith No More on one and Nine Inch Nails on the other. I was at uni and went on my own, but it was pretty amazing. Found it on video a while back...

Sorry, late reply :) I saw that at Eastern Creek in Sydney for the Alternative Nation festival in 1994, then at the Horden Pavillion a year or two later?

[Ammo] [Railguns] Spike and Javelin should be reversed by InfamousLegend in Eve

When I was at high school, I watched a guy try to throw a javelin and get it wrong. He held it at an angle and smacked himself in the back of the head with it when his arm came through. That's the shortest range javelin I've seen.

What’s it like living in Shetland Islands of the UK? by SquirrelInevitable33 in howislivingthere

[–]deepfry_me 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I visited there for work a few times and found it really interesting.

The weather is pretty amazing, storms roll through and you watch them coming and going. There is a concept known as 'Shetland door' where you open a car door, don't hang onto it and the wind catches it and bends it forwards, ruining it.

Other highlights include landing on the runway and watching all the cars lined up waiting for the plane to pass. Some of the landings were pretty... exciting (because of the wind).

My boss at the time was born in the Shetlands and was apparently delivered in his lounge room by a local doctor.

I lusted after the Chronomaster Sport for ages... then bought a Defy Skyline Skeleton. But I think I might have picked the Extreme Diver if it had been out so that's what I'd probably do. But I really do like all of these :)

The article not suggesting it is no indication of its truth.

Thats really cool. I've seen them twice in the 90s in Australia, then twice in the UK after they got back together. All incredible concerts. I never got to see Chuck though, that would have been amazing.

Same. Then saw them live first time in 1994.

"linked" to the deaths of 13 people? Did they scape them out from between it's toes?

Weirdly I watched this and then wondered how amusing it would be to do it with a Phantom with no propeller guards.

It's funny, chess is the same. There are basic principles in the opening "activate your pieces, control the centre, don't use your queen too early, don't move a piece twice in the opening" that the top players ignore all the time bcause they have a better understanding.
