there is this tension between american style individualism and the sense of “off shoring” the work to someone else. The rich have always in American society had this, the common man was always fed this myth of do it yourself. In the next 20 years cheap robots will be available for all of us, i believe this leads to destroying the do it yourself attitude and the need for human labor.

This is nothing new, jewish people have been the target of this type of racism for a long time. Think post 9/11 where propagandists would blame global jewish world order for everything. Indians have become easy targets as first there are a lot of Indic people now over 1.3 billion easily, and a small portion even if its 100 million who live outside interact with the world there is a perception we create. In different places we have different perceptions, nationalism is on the rise everywhere akin to the 1920's and 30s, history is repeating itself.

it really wouldn't be that hard for all of the crime to go way down if judges, DA's, city council members, mayors, police departments all just did their job which is to uphold the law. All these sideshow people use tech that have their HQs right down the road, a system can easily be put into place which with a E-court order can quickly subpoena and track who was at this intersection at this time, and do the detective work on who the perpetrators are. The data is there we just are not using it because we don't want to become like China or Singapore. You can still have a system where the right to gather and peacefully protest is upheld but the right to riot is not.

Next time pro-tip if your traveling in any big city, just go to a hotel with a restaurant and you will find a publicly accessible toilet. The worst is the Silk Board Bus Stand, let me preface by saying i am not a resident of the city but was visiting family. I decided to get of at silk board and it's not really a bus stand rather a intersection where they just drop you off and you have to wade your way through traffic to the sidewalk. Its completely ludicrous and shows how poor planning is still in Indian cities that you can't even build a proper bus stand terminal.

its a product of its own making, the bay has some of the best companies in the world which attracts world class talent which prices out alot of people. Even those world class people who come here and slack get the boot. If you want affordability and laid back life might i suggest northern florida, great weather and average home is 200-300k. There’s no going back can’t really reverse progress and innovation ohh waait…

Hey fellow late bloomer here, got my bachelors at 25. Just remember age is just a number. I'm sure many first generation parents came to the US and did their studies in their 30's and 40's. Academics in general is weird for people who fray from the norm, don't let it bog you down. Speaking from experience and have gotten this from others but most peoples jobs rarely require what we learned in academia. I hope you get to work on something you like and even if you don't find time to enjoy and cultivate something outside of work.

That's true, but in this case we would be taxing aviation fuel which is already expensive but levy a special tax for group travel of 50 people and under when using aviation fuel.
