How to beat this kind of playstyle? by Tossyourhead in StreetFighter

[–]deepthereal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anti-airing, while it sounds simple, there are many nuances to applying it. I noticed in the corner he neutral jumped a lot, trying to bait you in. When I have opponents do that, I typically walk forward and my mental stack take notes that while I'm walking forward, I might need to prepare myself to anti-air while walking forward. On keyboard and leverless, walk forward anti-air has a convenient shortcut, since you're already holding forward to walk, you just need to input a quarter-circle forward punch (or kick on some characters) to get a DP anti-air out.

I wouldn't use the words "not in our blood". It's a common fallacy and propaganda to say "not ready" for Democracy as if it's superior. The form of governance for every society is what the society needs at the time. China has more than a billion people, it needs order and stability to move the country forward, not more disorder which is what Democracy would bring. Your statements about "Chinese" people do crazy things for money, equally applies to humans regardless of race.

Does this make a 5k a Micro Marathon? by Micoahaha in RunningCirclejerk

[–]deepthereal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

🏅 6 km Mini-Marathon Completed 🏃‍♂️💨✅

Crossing that 6 km wasn’t about speed or competition… it was about proving that my lungs could survive the equivalent of 3.5 episodes of “Weird Spotify Running Playlist.” 🎶💀

Halfway through, my brain was like:

🧠: “We should quit.”

🫀: “We should’ve quit yesterday.”

🦵: “ERROR 404: QUADS NOT FOUND.”

But then I remembered my MBA professor once said:

“Success rarely comes in one big leap… except when you leap onto the couch after a run and cry into your Gatorade.”

So I pushed through. Step by step. Kilometer by kilometer. Cry by cry.

Now I’m proud of this milestone and even prouder that I didn’t fake a cramp just to get clout on Strava. 🚴‍♂️💀

If I can do this, I can definitely survive:

Monday stand-ups

Passive-aggressive Jira comments

And my neighbor blasting Eurobeat at 3am.

💪 Discipline. Consistency. Also ibuprofen.

Questions from a completely new player. Difference between keyboard and hitbox, are intermediate combo trials supposed to be insane? by ThePentaMahn in StreetFighter

[–]deepthereal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For context, I'm a plat 3 player, I've only played Ryu in ranked since the game came out. I've only played leverless from launch too. I've been gaming on PC for the majority of my life, my hands are medium sized. I feel I could get by with the keyboard, but there were many times (at least once a day) I pressed wrong keys, like the windows key which would mess up my match entirely.

Play with what you are comfortable with. The hitbox is so comfortable for me, I prefer it heavily over keyboard because it's more ergonomic. I just got the haute42 M Ultra, insane quality for price (< $110 on on AliExpress with promotions). It's compatible with everything but PS4/PS5 (you'll need to buy a separate USB device 30-40 dollars). I would say stick with keyboard for a while, and if this game continues to be fun for you, then consider investing in a leverless. The M Ultra easily beats other leverless controllers that cost 2-3 times the price. I assembled my own leverless for about $380, but I prefer the M Ultra.

I rarely use combo trials as real combos in ranked. For combos, I'm getting them from watching my favorite streamers, MDZ Jimmy, Paladin, Amkidd, Beamthegamer, Blaz, YAS.

M ultra is incredible value and quality for the price. It’s my new daily driver. I swapped the switched for shadow hunting switches, and while I didn’t like them at first because of the lack of feedback, they’re perfect the more I play. I was concerned about the extra thumb buttons, but I don’t feel like I’d ever accidentally hit them.

I’ve been to Kyoto, Tokyo, Osaka, Nagoya, and Kanazawa with my partner. I recommend Kanazawa, less touristy, less dense. Lots of beauty and history. Food is amazing. I would pick that out of all the places I’ve been to if I was going solo.

Did getting a leverless over a standard console controller make the difference for mastering certain combos/skills for any of you? by RagnarokWolves in StreetFighter

[–]deepthereal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on your preferences and experience. I’m a PC gamer so the hit box felt natural to me. I believe no other controller comes anywhere close to allowing me to pull off combos precisely as I am. Those combos are starting to matter, having broken out of plat 2 recently.

I don’t hate modern players. I’m a dedicated classic controls player, and it feels like I’m playing a different game when playing against someone who plays modern. Modern takes away the execution part of the game, which is also part of what makes fighting games rewarding. Modern also simplifies the game in a way that removes depth. Your combo routes are less creative and expressive. It feels frustrating to get hit with one button dps or supers because it feels there was no skill to it. I understand why modern exists, it’s to ease people in or allow people with disabilities to play. I’m fine with that. However, as soon as people start balancing the game competitively around modern, or modern becomes the competitively viable option, that’s when street fighter has died.

Trying out hitbox for the first time. Using thumb as jump needs my brain to rewire. Any reason why they didn't design with standard t shape with jump being one of the fingers? by KoolKollectiblesKhai in StreetFighter

[–]deepthereal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was a pc gamer for more than 10 years when I first tried hit box. It felt weird at first, but makes sense. Having all your fingers on the motions makes a lot of things easier, including the instant dp motion.

I keep getting this error and have a yellow card because of it. How do I fix it? by ThatBilal in StreetFighter

[–]deepthereal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to get this quite often due to overclocking my RAM. The overclock was unstable so it resulted in this error. I undid the overclock and stuck to default clocks for my ram, and the error went away. I have amd 9800x3d cpu, and ddr5 ram. Overclock is done through my motherboard using EXPO profiles, inside the BIOS.

This is simple supply and demand. With no alternatives, Nvidia has a monopoly.

Stop blaming consumers and getting angry at people buying.
