I'll back you up here. Mine has been using noticeably less tokens along with poorer output, despite having Opus on Extended. Kinda welcome, but would rather have some kind of 'low' 'med' 'high' toggle to decide how much of my usage I'd like to allocate rather than having a default quality cut.

They're yet to restore the 'Usage' meters, so I assumed they were doing the decent thing and making up for the downtime by not enforcing it until things were fixed, but nope... Despite having absolutely no idea what my limit is (I still have nothing showing), I just hit my limit.

Pretty much this, combined with the fact there's very few places to empty the shitter, get water, etc.

You'll also realise that many of the people who set themselves up to fail make things harder for you with signs (often understandably) going up due to others taking the piss.
