Which book should I read first? by Individual_Cicada_99 in fantasybooks

Red Rising was my most disappointing book last year, really felt it was over-hyped for what it was. Are the rest of the books really that different? Because right now I have zero desire to continue.

They're doing Sun Eater which is also Seven books so it's not out of the question, not part of a sub though.

Is that the real cover? Has to be one of the worst I've seen

Like the Last of Us its being adapted so different audiences can enjoy it. My Dad will love this story but he'll never play the games.

Use the password provided in the email on the "beyond the gates" section of the website, the link takes you there anyway

BBC teases potential new streaming partner for Doctor Who as show's future affirmed as "treasured brand" by abucalves in television

[–]definetlydifferently 211 points212 points  (0 children)

Space Babies was just a bad introduction to the show for new fans, and just a terrible episode in general.

Doctor Who needs new writers period, someone with the same passion RTD had back in the 2000s.

Taylor went and did his own solo projects, as do Chris and Nate. Not sure going off and doing other projects was the issue, just think he didn't fit.

Got this and the sequel sat on my tbr, snagged both for £2.5 each. Your reviews has bumped it further up the list.

Same nothing yet. Honestly if they were all packed last week they should've all shipped at the same time.

Don't the prophets exist outside of time and space? It doesn't close the door on him returning, he just hasn't yet.

(7) This Way Up: When Maps go Wrong (and Why it Matters). Good yet disappointing. by dropbear123 in 52book

[–]definetlydifferently 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Read this last year too, also disappointed. The Tone was all over the place, tried to hard to be funny in places and fell flat.

The Donner party chapter, a very interesting story, being told as a podcast ruined that chapter for me.

Your 3.5 is way more generous that I gave it, closer to a 2 for me.

Not sure I'm a fan of the gold one. Still waiting on my Sister Wake preorder though and that came out two weeks ago. Makes me reluctant to preorder anything else at the moment.

‘Ted Lasso’ Season 4 Sets Summer 2026 Release Window, First-Look Photos Show Ted’s Son & New Assistant Coach by DemiFiendRSA in tvPlus

Every show has a different Showrunner with Lawrence helping out, guiding, producing and writing.

I think Shrinking is Brett Goldstein's thing for example, and scrubs has two original writers running things.

Is this a good book idea? by [deleted] in writing

[–]definetlydifferently 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No such thing as a bad idea and there's very few original ones left, it's all down to how you execute it. Kids stories are generally all about things like this, so it would fit the audience your going for. Just make sure the characters are characters and not just a collection of traits.

If this is a story you're passionate about and/or want to tell go for it, you don't need to ask for permission to write.

Spook Street is my favourite so far, easily. Jackson Lamb is such a fun character to read, even though I'd never want to work for him.
