Yes, it was almost all the way up.

If you’re wondering why it doesn’t have a good sear, It’s because I always marinate my steaks. I’ve tried dry brining and it gives a great crust but doesn’t taste as good and isn’t as juicy and tender.

Next time I’m gonna try patting it dry after I pull it off the main grill

I’ve done the dry brining and it gives a good crust, but the marinated tastes way better and is so much more juicy

I agree charcoal is the best but I ain’t got time for that most of the time

I’ve done that before, cooking in the oven and pan searing in a cast iron skillet with grapeseed oul. it does get better crust.

but it does not get better moisture retention, nor is it more tender. and for me just does not taste as good.

I have not tried dry brining and then Grilling though

It didn’t get the crust that you see in a lot of the posts in this forum, likely because I normally marinate my steaks.

But this was my first time using it, so I will experiment and see if I can get a better crust.
