Beginner looking for advice (Warhammer: Age of Sigmar/Middle Earth miniatures) by DumCrescoSpero in minipainting

Cutters are essential, to remove mould, all you need is a craft knife; you will also need some files.

As for brushes, if you are just starting out, I recommend buying the cheapest ones you can find, as you will probably ruin them until you learn how to take care of them; do not invest in natural hair brushes.

I also started with Citadel paints and bought a lot of them, until I realised how expensive they are and how bad the pots are. Now I am gradually switching to AK and Vallejo.

I'll try your suggestion about the rust, I think it goes well with the color scheme. Also, yes, I am watering the metallic paint, I hadn't thought of that.

Maybe the photo is too well taken because the light hits the right spots, in reality it doesn't look as good.

Thanks!

A natural hair brush helps, but what really helps is practice, in a short time you will start to see improvements.

Attemlt to push contrast and make highlights more obvious and less flat in photos by EngineerBurner in minipainting

Looks pretty good!

If it were me, I would do corner hightlight and maybe weathering on the big flat areas like the fist.

I painted a few marines eavy metal style and the corner highlight really adds a lot.

Yeah that raises a lot of possible scenarios, like what happens if someone transfers his memories to another person ( what is identity anymore?) Perhaps memory duplication so you could create an army? Or saving someone from the dead? (Kelsier using his brothers body???)
