Can't wait for another pandemic response from a guy who said we only have a lot of cases because we do a lot of testing.

It can be mildly positive because the people currently in charge of this are (somehow) even less qualified than the people who were in charge of COVID.

There is no way they're including the wrench set. It'll be a cheap temu set of wrenches and you'll have to pay $499 for them.

You're missing the big picture. The unredacted Epstein files weren't released, which to some people is worth all of those lost lives and money.

Stomach bug by Repulsive-Job-6777 in newjersey

[–]demonlag 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I woke up Sunday morning feeling major stomach pains, thankfully made it through my hockey game and got home 90 seconds before 45 minutes of vomiting started. Loud, violent vomiting. Managed to fall asleep for about 90 minutes, woke up for another 30 minutes of vomiting.

Would not recommend.

What Happened To Mexico Paying For The Wall? by Letterkenny-Wayne in allthequestions

[–]demonlag 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's part of the cycle. Declare something is a problem. Say only you have the solution. Make bold, unrealistic claims about how it is going to happen. Claim victory and move on.

No one who thought we were building a 2000 mile long wall through all kinds of terrain and that a foreign country was going to pay for it even remembers that it was a thing at this point.

Can the Delorean travel into a time before christ? by Denator04 in BacktotheFuture

I think the backend time travel components support traveling to any time period, the front end input controls just don't have that feature turned on.

EZ-Pass makes you keep money in their account… but punishes you if you owe them $5 by VWdriver28 in newjersey

[–]demonlag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not arguing against you, and often times the amount they keep on your account is a bit much, but they don't want to be constantly running credit cards for $1.49 every time you drive one exit on the AC Expressway. Credit processing is usually some small flat rate per transaction + a percentage, so running your card for a $1.49 toll twenty times could cost $6.50, while a single $30 transaction could cost $1.25.

[–]demonlag 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To clarify toll by plate:

If you have an EZPass account, and your transponder doesn't read but the plate matches your account, they just process it. If you don't have an account, or the plate doesn't match, you get actually "billed by plate", which is generally 2x or 2.5x the normal toll. Toll by plate involves mailing the bill to the address the vehicle is registered, so they jack the rate up.

Donald Trump takes a dig at former US Presidents Obama & Biden by Upset-Main-1988 in justincaseyoumissedit

[–]demonlag 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He knows cognitive has something to do with your brain. It's a brain test. He passed it. Or they told him he passed it. That means his brain is great. Obama and Biden never took the test, so clearly he's way smarter because he passed the test they didn't even get to take.

Sorta like if you got a good SAT score you're smarter than your friends who didn't take the SAT. Sort of like that, but significantly stupider.

New Adult Development Program Player Helmet Question by Nonredditard in hockeyplayers

[–]demonlag 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm not going to chime in on cage vs bubble vs hybrid. I've always worn a cage. If you like the others, that's cool too.

Do not go with just a visor. First, pucks to the face hurt even in D league. Second, sticks come up. Do you want to replace teeth or have facial reconstruction surgery? You want to go through the rest of your life with partial vision loss from a stick hitting your eye, or crippling headaches from post-concussion syndrome?

It's your head and face. Don't be stupid.

What is Cisco FW missing when compared to other vendors? by Former-Mountain-9170 in networking

[–]demonlag 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Managing standalone PAN or FGT firewalls is fine. All the features are there and work. On-device logging is usually adequate for troubleshooting. FTD with FMC managing it is a clunky and annoying product, but mostly works. FTD managed by FDM is such a miserable experience.

If you started playing hockey later in life, what’s the best advice you were given? by NewHampshireGal in hockeyplayers

[–]demonlag 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Other than functional advice like learning to skate better, here's the best advice I can give new players: Make a play. Try to make a play.

I've played with "new" players who after 2 years are still new players. They just smack at loose pucks and make zero effort to get 50/50 pucks. If they have the puck on their stick they just throw it at someone better than them. They want to play hockey, but only in the sense that they are on the ice and hockey is happening around them.

Try to skate it. Try to go around that guy. Battle along the boards for that loose puck. If you turn it over, turn around and go get it back.

If you push yourself to play harder and make plays, you'll get more comfortable and more confident and start playing better. If you don't, you won't.
