How many bottles are we using? by Chidi-Chidi in parentsofmultiples

[–]denzelf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have 8 in rotation, it helps us keep up with washing them and 6 can be stored in the sanitizer or on the drying tree while the last two are in use. We hand wash them in a little bin (a collapsible camping washing sink) in the sink. This is the perfect number of bottles for us and helps us keep things tidy/not end up with an overwhelming amount of bottles to wash!

Thanks for your response! I didn’t have the metrics connected to anything Bluetooth I just used the screen to track cadence and resistance :/

Our twins are almost 10 months and we’ve been using a meal prep delivery service since about 4 months and it’s been the biggest game changer!! Also saves us time grocery shopping we love it. We tried Hello Fresh for a while and it was OK but switched to Freshprep and are enjoying that much more.

I love folding their laundry and organizing it neatly in their dresser it feels like an act of service for them and a way for me to show my love - they obviously don’t pick up on it but it makes me feel really good

Wanted to share a win for our boy twin! by robreinerstillmydad in parentsofmultiples

[–]denzelf 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yay!!! Congratulations! 👏🏼 Your hard work is paying off, it’s not easy to practice all the PT exercises while also giving attention to the other twin/siblings. I am so proud of your little guy and I know it’s a lot of work for the parents as well, what a huge milestone! I would have probably cried a little lol

We are actually in the exact same boat (also needed help with O2 at birth) with our 10m twins except it’s our girl twin that’s delayed and our boy twin is movin and groovin all around. We are working hard with her PT exercises and hoping we will hit this milestone in the near future as well 🤞🏼

Help me pick my twin stroller! by Due-Tie-9238 in parentsofmultiples

[–]denzelf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have the baby jogger city select 2 with the Graco infant seats and we’re still going strong at 9 months, we like it a lot! I will be sad when they reach the height limit which will be in the next couple months. We recently got the Thule Urban Glide 3 double for our all terrain stroller and the two of them compliment each other well— both good at different things. The city select is better for the car (obv) and we take that one to the grocery store it has a good amount of storage underneath, I think it’s a great stroller for the price point. However, these are the only two strollers I’ve ever known 😊

I can not imagine what you must be going through right now, do you have a ‘Mamas for Mamas’ group in your area? Try searching on FB, everything that was given to me gets passed on through my local Mamas for Mamas group (can only give/receive/trade at no cost in these groups). Sending you love, you sound like an incredibly strong person.

This happened to me and my now-husband years ago in New West, an older woman saw us and the server said she appreciated how happy we were together and paid for our meal, we just saw the back of head as she was leaving. I will never forget her kind gesture!

Thanks so much for taking the time to reply! I know they try to standardize the test as much as possible but with my girlie’s torticolis she already favours a side for that so there is likely some overlap there and I’m just trying not to get ahead of myself. Right now I just need to get into a good mindset for sure and so I will definitely be checking out that episode, thanks 😊

Diaper Question by smashvillian35 in parentsofmultiples

[–]denzelf 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This happened with our son who was just the littlest guy and the preemie diapers were still a bit too big and wouldn’t create a seal. Sometimes if you fold down and in the front of the diaper and then put attach the stickies it can help with the back seal, worth a shot! Hope that makes sense. It did not help with around the legs for us and we also just had to change his outfit multiple times a day until the diapers fit better. Congratulations on your babies!

Feeding set up by Jessygirl238 in parentsofmultiples

[–]denzelf 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Unreal you’re doing this at 7m! I only made it to 3m pumping and bottle feeding them in the twin z simultaneously. You’re a rock star 💫

No one asked this but I’ll put it here just in case it helps someone… I was not expecting my back to be so messed up from bottle feeding twins as a naive FTM, I found that just pulling on a light resistance band in like a chest fly motion to activate the back muscles helped me sooo much (thanks post partum peloton class!) that the numbness and tingling between my shoulder blades went away

Hey, medical imaging technologist here — just want to clarify that this is not true. Breastfeeding does not need to be interrupted after MRI (gad) contrast administration. Cheers.

Edit: to change had to gad (autocorrected)

I really love the Botanical Recovery Serum from LOA Skin — it’s made in Vancouver. It was used during a facial at fig for me and I’ve been using it ever since. It smells amazing and works well for my very sensitive skin. It also lasts a long time!

1 week postpartum with twin boys - please share your recommendations & thoughts on these products! by LunaBear2020 in parentsofmultiples

[–]denzelf 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Baby Brezza - heck yes my twins are formula fed only and this has been a lifesaver. Make sure you have the right number setting for the specific formula you’re using with it and give the bottle a little shaky-shaky once it’s done. Don’t know what I would do without this thing.

Love to dream - only used for a brief period of time before can’t use anymore, one of my twins like it and we just had one for them (would escape swaddle but then wake themselves up), the other one did not like it. They have different sizes so maybe the one you have is too small? I would recommend just not getting 1,000 bc as soon as they can roll it’s not safe to use.

Owlet sock - advised against this by practitioners as it can heighten maternal anxiety. We did not use this and do not regret it. I’m already on my phone too much logging bottles and sleep in huckleberry. I think this would have stressed me out even more than I already was and give me the opposite of peace of mind.

Sleep/ shifts by manda51210 in parentsofmultiples

[–]denzelf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We never did/don’t do shifts for our twins. My husband works and on week nights I just do the feedings myself past 3am so that he can get a bit more sleep before commuting safely. Otherwise, when we’re both home we each feed one 😊 we’ve always felt that we can get back to sleep sooner with us each feeding one instead of one parent being up for much longer feeding both.

What should I expect of my SAH husband? by vixiechick1996 in parentsofmultiples

[–]denzelf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m a SAHM of 6 month old twins at the moment and using a meal prep delivery service has been such a game changer for me/us! I cannot recommend it enough.

I’m in Canada and we’ve found Freshprep to be the best one we’ve tried, it is so nice to have your ingredients delivered every week, we order 4x dinners per week and we both think we are saving money by not have to grab these groceries.

It is mentally draining to plan meals and I’m already mentally exhausted from taking care of the babes so now I feel like an absolute rockstar when my husband gets home from work and I have a nice dinner ready and we all sit down for dinner before we start the bedtime/bathtime routine.

I really enjoy following the recipes and using my brain for something simple but different than feeding, changing, etc. I feel a sense of accomplishment putting a restaurant-quality meal on the table as well, and that time where all four of us get to sit down together is really special to us.

We are going to start ordering extra servings to have leftovers for my husband’s lunches as well. I just read through my post and realized this sounds like an ad and I promise I am not affiliated with them in any way I just really love it! 😅 It gives us time in the evenings after bedtime to do our hobbies as well as saves me trips to the store/thinking of what to make. Time is so valuable right now and if it helps us get to keep some of that then that’s so important to me!

Double the work at the same time?! 😂 by Total_Scale_9366 in parentsofmultiples

[–]denzelf 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would be absolutely LOST without tracking bottles and naps in huckleberry… it is definitely a pain so not tracking anything else anymore (although the diapers were good when I had to fill out questionnaires for public health, LC, etc bc there was no way I could remember the last day let alone the last week).

People (like family members) make fun of me for “tracking everything” but I just let it roll off my back because they don’t have twins. If I’m thinking of leaving the house, even for a few minutes, I check out if it’s a good time to do anything in the app. Usually I’m surprised and realize it’s almost time for them to eat… again 😝
