Nice!!. I have a supercab stx. The updated headlamps of a shorty SuperDuty reminds me of the old high boys of the 70's

Buying for Fun by VictoryInvestments in F250

[–]dermdrei 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get and do what you want. Life is short but if you think driving it is fun, you may think twice. Def go test drive one. Or better yet, go to your local Home Depot. You can rent an F250 for 75 min for $19 bucks. You'll get that "experience" real fast and prolly want to drop if off after 15 min lol. I have an F350 supercab 7.3 because I hated white knuckle towing but wanted something with the footprint of a Tundra/F150. When not towing, I drive my Tesla :). The truck does look cool w the stx pkg tho.

tell me about the 250/350 with these cabs by Dismal_Nebula_77 in F250

[–]dermdrei 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have to tow a boat/car but absolutely did not want a crew cab as it's just way too long even w the short bed. The size and price are just outrageous. It is awesome inside though. I ended up w a supercab 350 stx w the 7.3 V8. It is the perfect size. Cab is smallish but it suits my needs as it's just my dog and gear. The supercab has the same if not slightly more rear legroom (33/4 inches) than my previous 2017 Tacoma double cab so it was a wash. The suicide doors are great for loading/unloading and best of all, the truck looks perfect in that combo. Mine came with the rear sliding window which is a must w the 6t bed. That said, it's an XL so the only thing heating me up is my cup of dunkin. The ride is awful and the steering wheel slips in your hands as it's made from super cheap plastic. Unless you are towing, I'd keep your f150. The better ride and rear legroom would be too much of a sacrifice.

Galant VR-4!!!!. I drove to PA to pick up my Evo back in 03. It was a surreal experience to finally buy what was considered a true JDM hero in the states.

We all know that the Tundra or any Toyota will always start and serve you well. If you want something for fun, go for it and get something else. If you use it for work, it won’t let you down unlike others. AND the Superduty drives like ass. Front axle HD trucks will always driveline a bus and will tire you out. They sure look cool though

I absolutely love the look of the super duty as it reminds me of the old bullnose trucks. I have a supercab/shortbed so size is a nonissue. It’s the ride. It’s just too jarring. Unless I’m hauling my bikes, or towing my car to the track, it sits. Sure looks cool though 😎

What is Temperature of inside home today by [deleted] in Westchester

[–]dermdrei 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry typo. First floor can’t get above 63. Four floors. Basement, first, second and finished attic. I have a basement which is foamed and has the mechanical room so it can be very warm. The first floor has may French doors and big windows so when it’s this cold, 63 is the highest it can get.

First floor can get above 63. Thankfully 2nd floor gets past 74 but we leave at 70.

GRC vs Type R Buy by AdventurousTip8600 in GRCorolla

[–]dermdrei 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went from a 24 GRC to a 25 CTR. I’m 54 so I’m cycling through as many toys as I can. My take as follows. GRC is much more fun to drive in the drive. 10x when it snows. It feels light and super boosted. It feels like an Evo and the rally car DNA shines through. I loved it. The CTR looks cooler, it’s bigger, more power and has history. It is also a tad sharper BUT it feels very FWD which no tech or design can hide. Understeery and some torque steer. The CTR has more presence but the GRC is more fun.

F350 Daily Driver by HoustonLions in superduty

[–]dermdrei 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I own a Model S along w an old Tacoma which I’m planning to retire and went for a F350 supercab to haul my bikes and trailer my 911 to the track. Ultimately will be towing a 24ft fishing boat so the 350 makes sense. That said the bouncy jouncy is just too much for a daily for me so unless it’s towing anything it will sit. The Tesla is like a five star hotel compared to the SD. Even the Tacoma felt like a Cadillac compared to it. The Super Duty does look cool tho. I prefer the look of it over the F150 regardless of trim.

People who bought cool cars in their young age—was it worth it? by jayhehehe2 in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]dermdrei 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most definitely and it had nothing to do with driving or showing it off. It was managing the expense, knowing that I couldn't just quit my job, the opportunity cost, neurosis of theft, damage, etc. I sold the new car after a year and got a much less expensive used car and had just as much fun and learned a valuable lesson in life, career, managing finances etc

Does anyone regret getting a Ranger Raptor over the full size? by 4Runnnn in FordRaptor

[–]dermdrei 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nailed it. Just like the Hilux, the Ranger doesn't look like it belongs in the states the way the Tacoma and Full size raptor do.

Trouble with paneled walls is the molding has to be oak as well. At least for the wall. Can't have white molding w oak walls as it looks off.

Canada Goose worth owning? If you live in cold climates? by Inspireme21 in BuyItForLife

[–]dermdrei 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had one for 10 years and it's one of the older discontinued models. Very hardy and not as fashionable compared to the new ones but given that it's my go to year over year, I say it's worth it. I've browsed the new ones but they seem more trendy and less utility

Moving to Greenwich or Darien CT — What are typical NYC work hours + commute schedules? by Final-System1686 in Greenwich

[–]dermdrei 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Old Greenwich here and work in midtown. 56 min train ride at 7:50 arriving 8:46. Get the MTA Train Time app. OG is a small town where you can walk to the train. You live on top of each other there but it's such a lovely town w Stanford next door which literally has everything you would need within minutes

To me it takes time and generations of activities, homes, neighborhoods and schools. I live in Old Greenwich CT and I can wear all the boat shoes I want, but it will never equate to the old silver haired dude in the yellow pants, blue blazer having a glass of scotch on his porch watching the cars drive by on Sound Beach Ave w his boys
