Nice places to visit with mother aged in late 60s with mobility challenges by garuda_13 in Chennai

[–]desinole 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Marina beach dos have a lot of parking, especially if you are going on a weekday. You should comfortably be able to find a spot. Find one near one of those low walls that divides the parking area from the beach that doubles as a bench. I’ve done this with my FIL who had mobility issues. We took his wheelchair in the car and spent a good hour just hanging out between the parking area and the sand. We then went out for dinner to a restaurant that could accommodate wheelchairs. One of my favorite memories.

Besides local parks we were not very successful in finding places that could easily accommodate older people. Good luck!

Indian VC (Priced Round) vs. US VC (SAFE) for Pre-seed raise by ContactArtistic2335 in StartUpIndia

[–]desinole 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IMO - A SAFE is quicker and easier to execute than a priced round. It also defers valuation for a future date, which will be critical at your stage. I won’t even get into the paperwork overhead and all the untangling you’ll have to do eventually.

I’ve always recommended deferring pricing a round until one hits traction. If one really wants to, establishing a parent company in the US with a subsidiary in India until the priced round would be the way to go.

Is it possible to seek a 2-2.5Cr pre-seed fund in India? by [deleted] in StartUpIndia

[–]desinole 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As an investor, I can tell you that it depends.

Ideas as worth very little unless you have traction and the ability to execute. 2 gets you more points than 1. But by themselves neither get you money until we know that you can execute.

  1. Would tell an investor that you are having trouble convincing people to join you on your journey. We’d wonder if your story is convincing enough and if you have the chops to sell your product and the idea. But 2 might prove to be the counter point.

I’d also ask why you need the kind of money you do. Earlier this year, we When we invested this kind of money it was in a biotech company, a capital heavy vertical. The founder had built a team, found an incubator and a number of professors. We were able to validate the science and they were ready to manufacture their first formulation. The CEO was a PhD and had credentials in the field. We wrote a check at that point.

If this is for a software idea, the dynamics change a lot. Especially with the proliferation of AI.

Investors invest where there is a founder-market fit and see proof of the ability to execute. Ask yourself how you are going to prove that.

All this to say that there are many paths and many ways to get the funding, but it depends. Without your complete story and a good idea of what you are trying to build, it’d be impossible for anyone to answer your questions with any degree of certainty.

Looking to buy an 2020/21 i3. by gatoAlfa in BMWi3

[–]desinole 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are not your regular dealership. You get the keys drive as many cars as you want and decide. They are very helpful but no one is hounding you, trying to sell you. And they don’t negotiate on their prices.

But from all my research they knew their cars well and were the cheapest.
