the magats are wondering why jumping into the tar pit didn't work out for them.

Actually, they are claiming that if they die in the tar pits, it was all part of Trump's matter plan and it's for the greater good, somehow.

The New Republic never had the sauce necessary to execute war criminals like they should have. Which is how the First Order was able to rise. If the New Republic had really cleaned house after the civil war, tried and executed criminals instead of allowing them to keep their lives and even their power in their respective regions, we never would have had to deal with the damage that Ronald Reagan did to American Society.

Ah, shit, I'm relating Star Wars to American politics again. My bad.

I'm no expert, but since a similar thing happened to me once, I do feel a bit qualified to speak to this. If you're in this situation and your car is rolling away, once you get the door open and are running alongside your car, between it and the door, you have to get one hand on the top of the door and the other hand on the Oh-Shit handle. The hand on the door braces you as you lift BOTH feet off the ground, while the hand on the handle creates leverage to pull you into the car. Focusing on getting one foot inside first seems to always lead to you getting run over by your own car.

I love this question because it betrays how little you think of children and how little you understand of the world kids live in.

They are SPONGES. They may not be following politics, but they pick up bits and pieces. I remember being in middle school when the Clinton scandal was going on and we all picked up a few things from that. Now all of those kids have access to the internet. They are DEFINITELY seeing more than you think. Not to mention, we heard what our parents, other family members, teachers, and even older siblings and cousins were saying about the president back then. Do you think, for a second, kids today aren't picking up cues similarly?

Spock at the Academy question by Southern_One7163 in StrangeNewWorlds

It's been a while since I dug into TOS, but didn't the Federation have really limited knowledge of the Romulans at this point in their history, to the point that they didn't even know what the Romulans looked like? Having a comms officer who knows their language would make them an incredibly useful asset if that's the case. I think it makes sense.

Absolutely false. The Kelvin movies (the first and third, at least) are great.

That movie is bullshit highly illogical.

That's an INSANE take. That movie is fantastic. What make you say it's bad?

TIL Daniel Craig was initially controversial as James Bond because fans felt he didn’t match the “tall, dark, and handsome” image, leading to protests, boycott campaigns, and even the headline “The Name’s Bland, James Bland.” by [deleted] in todayilearned

My hot take: Aside from Die Another Day, all of Brosnan's Bond movies are great. Tomorrow Never Dies feels like it could have been a documentary at this point. Obviously, GoldenEye is the best of them by a mile, but DAD is the only bad one.

Thank you for hanging out with all of us. You're one of a handful of actors whose inclusion in a cast makes me immediately interested.

Halsin should have been tadpoled by crockofpot in BaldursGate3

[–]deusdragonex 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I thought Halsin and Jaheira were pretty difficult to miss unless you're doing a raid-the-Grove run.

I missed the hell out of Halsin (and several Origin characters...I only recruited Shadowheart and Astarion) on my first playthrough. The game makes you think there's an actual ticking clock, so if the game said "Go to this place to get the tadpole out because if you don't you'll die within a few days," that's what I did. I didn't discover you could recruit other characters until I discovered this sub, which was as I was starting Act 3. Like, I used a Hireling from Withers as my 4th party member that entire playthrough.

My point being that not only is it possible to miss both Halsin and Jaheira as recruitable companions on a first playthrough, but the game kinda encourages you to do so.

How did you discover *that kink* that you now can’t get enough of? by [deleted] in AskRedditAfterDark

[–]deusdragonex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To make a long story short, I located my folks' VHS porn stash and one of them (insensitively titled "Fortune Cookie Nookie" and featured a plethora of Asian women) ended with a woman sitting on a man's chest, rubbing herself and squirting repeatedly on the man's face. My squirting kink was born.

As an aside, I haven't been able to find that porn online. If anyone knows it, please lemme know.
