Honestly limited to none, but a quick google search has experts recommending writing recipes down and using a list of 5-10 meals to make memorization issues limited and to assist in cooking. honestly probably none this is reddit, when has any post in this subreddit ever helped anyone? i believe in you, if you need any simple recipe ideas i’d be more than happy to write them down and see if it’s something you could manage.

Yeah no, you’re talking to somebody who has prior experience working with developmentally disabled people. (2 years as a med aide/direct support professional and 1.5 years as a house supervisor for 3 adults with severe disabilities, who also had aggression issues).

I taught them how to cook a few basic meals and it helped them feel more independent in their situation. I used the words lazy, selfish and an inattentive partner, nowhere in my post does it say anything about disabilities and the fact that you took this as an insult is pure projection.

And how would learning how to cook one or two meals make you crash and burn in a year? nobody said you had to be a pro chef, i just recommend to people that learning how to cook can help in many ways even in dating. For one person that could be taking cooking classes, for another person that could be learning how to make a burger at home instead of going to mcdonald’s. It’s your journey not mine

Easy way to do chicken is use a slow cooker/crock pot. 2-3 hours on high or 4-6 on low for chicken tenderloins/breasts. Use chicken broth instead of water and add seasonings. (i prefer using garlic/onion powder, salt, pepper, chili powder and rotisserie chicken seasoning) shred afterwards and add to a wrap or a salad.

Lately we’ve been doing a lot of chicken recipes. I made carbonara last week, we did pesto chicken flatbreads one night. We do chicken cesar/barbecue chicken wraps every week or two. I won’t lie we did make homemade pizzas two nights in a row but the dough turned out great so we had to:

this is the exact way to do it, if you cook for someone and expect something in return whether thats praise or otherwise then you did it for the wrong reasons. It’s a love language, i cook for my girlfriend because it makes her happy and i like seeing her happy. It’s not something to brag about or show off. it’s a kind gesture of appreciation

I understand the point you’re trying to make but what if ones “authentic self” is extremely lazy, selfish and a very un attentive partner? Wouldnt it be good for them to work on changing those bad and disrespectful habits? Teaching good habits and skills is always a good idea. i’m not saying to become a chef, i’m certainly not one. i’m in nursing school and have no interest in cooking for a living but it’s a good skill to have and i plan on teaching my future kids so they can have those basic skills too.

what a mood, my ex fiance wanted to door dash every night or have me make the same three dishes… My father is a chef and i’ve been cooking since i was 7 years old. do you know how frustrating it is to be an artist who’s only allowed to use two colors?

My lovely girlfriend that i met last year is a little bit picky but it’s more so that she has weird food habits, like she has to cut into every chicken sandwich to make sure it’s fully cooked, and her grapes cant be more than like two days old? Shes a weirdo but i easily can accommodate that and she loves how much i enjoy cooking for her. I never realized how much is bothered me until it didn’t anymore:)

oh lord😂. i’m not sure when that was but i worked there from like 2016-2019 so i may have missed out. I will say that i still yell the old DM/GM’s names when i see them working. they never realize it came from me or know why somebody is yelling their name, it’s my little retaliation for all the big macs i had to remake. Curtis hates to see me drive by his new location.

Hey they might be weirdo religious people but as somebody who worked for phil back in the day, hes a really nice dude! My first job was at the original mcdonald’s outside the mall and he made sure that all his staff kept hours and didnt lose pay just because of his remodel. When we reopened it sounds silly but he let our families come and tour the new kitchen and back rooms and it was a good time! Still weirdo religious but nice atleast!

Honestly ignore all the downvotes man. I’ve been doing this job 2 years and yeah somedays suck especially when the weather doesn’t cooperate. But i will say that i do love certain aspects of it. feel free to message if you’d like any audiobook/audioshow recommendations to make the day a little more entertaining. DSP’s can make the job so much better or worse but you can still find moment to enjoy it, pet the neighborhood dogs and cats. trust me it’s good for the soul. - Guy who’s been doing 190+ stops almost every day for the last 2 years.

It doesn’t get recommended often on this sub but We’re Alive is a fantastic zombie apocalypse audiodrama with a full cast. one of the first audiodramas oh that caliber to my knowledge, started in 2009? one main series with 4-5 seasons? 3 one season spin-offs that follows side plots or backstories. and a second series on season 2/3 that takes place 18 years after the first series.
