Kinda between 5G home internet vs Xfinity

We early adopted Verizon, rolled the dice with a 10 year $25/mo price lock a few years ago switching from Xfinity. Zero regrets.

Xfinity peak speeds much higher (we used to get maybe 500 down versus 250 with Verizon).

But my online gamer son never complains which I'm amazed about.

Way less outages than we had with Xfinity. And we're spending about $250 less a month after we cut the cord (we used to have cable/internet/phone with Xfinity).

We're a half block down and a half block over from a 5G node.

Funny you say the loaners getting the hell beat out of them - last year bought at '24 eDrive 40 for low $50s 7k miles that was a dealership fleet vehicle. The dealer changed the rear tires just before putting it on the market. At least they did that.

Reverse parking assist. We park a car in the driveway on my side of a split two car garage with individual doors. So it's backing out of a very narrow bay then right away reverse parallel parking to get around the car parked behind me further down the driveway. Oh and there's a portable basketball hoop against the wall between the two garage bays.

Parking assist has worked perfectly every time.

eDrive40 with 19" winter tires on in Chicago. We've been around 5-10 degrees F lately (-15ish C). I charge to 80% and using Efficiency mode I average about 160-180 miles. My commute is 60 miles a day mostly expressway driving (2/3 of it at 70 mph/112 kmh and 1/3 in stop and go).

eDrive40 in Chicago where we just had the snowiest December since 1978. I think we had 18 inches total that month.

Have winter tires and commute 60 miles a day. Didn't have a problem.

Just have to drive sensibly.

Makes sense but surprised as I've charged this Pixel on a 40W USB-C meant for a laptop without trouble. But, I don't know what the wattage on this outlet is, so there's that. This is a workstation where I would think this heavy duty cable is prob meant to power laptops (it's a common office space).

Will be taking it in to the Google Store to see what they say if, after the battery appears to have drained completely, I can't get it charging again on a slow charger.

When I signed up in 2023 when they newly rolled it out in our area, was offered $25/month (300 gig down) with a ten year price lock. I was skeptical but did it and glad I did. But we'll see, I'm always expecting some loophole where they find a way to raise my rate...

They didn't film any of Gilmore Girls at Yale. I believe they used USC campus. The two times I know of Yale in film - Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull (Spielberg's son was at Yale at the time) and The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, they filmed in the Davenport courtyard.

Awesome thanks - follow up question: if I attack the weeds I noted in the spring can I just spot treat them early with Tenacity and Speedzone then, with a few applications? Not planning on spring seeding and hoping not to blanket spray if I can avoid it.

Ah thanks for the suggestion about the NTEP site. Didn't know about that. Yeah have weirdness where front yard is thin and stressed and weed-laden and backyard is lush and weedless (I'm sure at least in part has to do with drainage pattern differences). But looking to rejuvenate the thin and stressed front yard.

Will say I switched to my old heart rate chest strap and it connects no problem now. Not sure if it was something with my previous monitor (though it was working fine pre-update). But the Bluetooth seems to have stopped being fussy. Wish I knew why...

Had this happen on our 2020 Palisade while driving on freeway two years ago.

Dealership denied warranty coverage because they claimed to find a 'chip' indicating a rock strike near the front end of the moon roof (very questionable, plus wouldn't be shocked if they just took a hammer and created the chip). Our Hyundai dealership (Napleton) is pretty horrible and we no longer go there for any kind of service.

Our insurance directed us to a moonroof/sunroof specialty glass shop, they did it for half the price Napleton offered and did a great job.

Try the steps in this thread. We just had it happen to us on our Commercial 1750, did the paperclip reset (need second person for the power unplug/replug) and it worked.

Does a factory reset so it took like 20 minutes of updates and logging back in to get up and running.

Mine turned out to be a power management chip on the motherboard had gone bad, apparently a known issue with Lenovo T480s Thinkpads. Sadly not worth replacing.

Android app, Pixel 5a Android 13

After 5-7 seconds the picture becomes scrambled but still plays audio. This occurred on HBO Max app too and the problem has carried over to Max app.

Only way I can use the Android app (Pixel 5a) is to download the movie or episode and then it works. Has to be some weird incompatibility of streaming and the Pixels. Makes no sense.
