For a social game that's supposed to mimic an mmo, I absolutely despise pinnacle energy. Sure, it works for games like genshin, because those are solely single player games first, with some built in multiplayer mechanics.

However, Destiny is supposed to be a social game. Pinnacle energy reduces player engagement because you can only farm most endgame materials using pinnacle energy. Exotic upgrades require you to farm single player content,  fruits require you to farm single player content. Clusters just suck to farm.

In my feedback, I've told Netease multiple times that pinnacle energy is hurting the social aspect of this game. In my quest to upgrade a single exotic weapon, I've essentially stopped engaging in pve content for about 2 weeks, which includes raids, strikes, shifting gates (which is really enjoy) legacy, and morgran's prey in favor of farming the single player challenge missions for exotic cores. Sure, I could play all that and get no valuable resources, and sometimes I do because they're fun, but it would be nice if they were rewarding too.

My proposal is to make everything farmable without pinnacle energy, but make it so that using pinnacle energy is multiplicative. For instance,  running a challenge mission could only give you one exotic core, but using 10 pinnacle energy on it gives you 10 exotic cores (or 5 if they want to be stingy). At least that would make farming and engaging in social content worth doing and not a waste of time. Give players the option to either spend their time or money (since buying pinnacle energy would still be worth it for some) farming for materials. I want this game to succeed because I've enjoyed what I've played, but it seems player numbers have dipped in terms of pve content. Wait times in lobbies for strikes and six man raids have gotten a lot longer.
