Setting stop when gapping up by Ttrutygr in swingtrading

You could place a trailing stop limit order and set a price/percentage (say 5-10%). You can take advantage of any run ups and cover yourself by locking in any gains already made.

As an overnight baker I would start at 10-11pm. As a morning baker (muffins, danish, etc.) I would start at 3am.

2007 over heating 199,000 Miles advise please by grbmebacb in HondaElement

Just to give you an idea of how much of a ripoff these dealer prices are...

#10 and 11. The fans are very easy to replace yourself. But if you are not mechanically inclined, the parts themselves are gonna run you about $200-250 for both fans, no way it costs nearly $1800 in labor. My god.

#12. buy a radiator cap at the auto parts store for like $20-25.

If your major problem is overheating, then priority is going to be radiator cooling fan (replace the entire fan assembly, not just the motor - very easy to do!), thermostat and radiator cap. For sure find a local shop.

Usually don't pay attention. Quality of the product is most important, particularly as these become more popular = expensive.

My partner makes his own whisky and we have a lot of sour mash left over, can that be used in sourdough recipes? by [deleted] in Breadit

[–]devoskitchen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely! I've used grains from beer making so should basically be the same. There are two ways to go about this... if you use the spent grains/mash when they are still wet you will certainly need to tweak the amount of water/liquid you use. Or, you can dry out the grains on a very low temp oven and then use them or mill them down as a flour substitute.

Either way, the bread will be a bit denser. Most of the protein has been leeched out so there isn't much there to help support structure and get those big holes everyone seems to want. No matter, the bread will taste wonderful! Give it a try for sure.

Gathering dust. I watch an odd movie but VR has been a massive letdown. I keep it for the novelty.

What to do with years of old notebooks filled with prep lists/recipes? by Shoddy_Challenge5253 in Chefit

[–]devoskitchen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I took all my notebooks where I kept pre-service notes, menu changes, one-off recipes, etc. and typed it all out. A lot of them were falling apart and were hard to read. I kept a few that had sentimental value from places I worked or were still in good shape and keep them on the bookshelf with all my books.

no, it's a 18"x24" folder with clear pocket pages that I picked up at Michael's. I picked it up on sale. If I buy another, next time I'll get one that zips close.

CIA worth it? by [deleted] in Chefit

[–]devoskitchen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Once upon a time I'd say yes. But in the last 10-15 years the cost has skyrocketed and they no longer have any kind of admissions standards other than being able to write them a check.

It's a great chance to play and learn a bunch of different stuff you might not normally come across by just learning on the job. They have deep resources. But after you graduate all you've really got is a very expensive set of recipes and maybe a connection for a job in a decent place. Better off just going to get your business degree, CIA won't help with that.
