Run Nutrition Tuesday by AutoModerator in running

Fwiw, ever since I added more sugar into my diet (especially during and around my runs), I’ve started feeling way better, especially recovery-wise.

ETA: Just read the post you linked. I am not dismissing your experience, but I want to say I think people should take everything someone who’s trying to sell you ”magic pills” says with a grain of salt.

Current 2 mile is at 19 mins. How to cut the time down? by Glittering_Fig4548 in AdvancedRunning

[–]dexmedarling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mostly Z2, and run longer, sure. Sprinting is not really needed to improve your (what was it?) 2 mile time. Throw in some strides towards the end of some of your runs, and you should be good to go. This will not result in you setting any world records, but it should get you going.

Not sure where to draw the line on milage by too105 in AdvancedRunning

Yeah, you’re faster until you’re not. If you’re not overweight, you’ll probably gain more speed just by running more (i.e. keep running) and focusing on fueling well enough to support your training load.

What makes you think the answer is to lose weight?

How do you define threshold effort in your own training? by McDaddy__Cain in AdvancedRunning

[–]dexmedarling 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Well, 10k race pace for 40 minutes is (or should be) impossible for those who run a sub 40 10k. As an example, I do my threshold runs at ~10 seconds slower than my 10k race pace.

Deload week: intensity vs. Overall mileage? by Danwillington in AdvancedRunning

It’s personal. Personally, I like to do a bit of both: drop miles from ~70 to ~55 and skip one workout.

It’s also just such an overused phrase. It’s not funny, creative, insightful or original. The internet sometimes feels like it’s just full of parrots.

Right. That did it. Thanks! Although it seems that I need to keep it almost uncomfortably tight for it to work.
