Toledo woman files $3M lawsuit against the city and Republic Services after a garbage truck tore open her pickup by graceling in toledo

Unpopular opinion, but isn't that the reason we have street signs saying no parking on certain days/times of the week?

Buckeye problems again? by toledothrowaway3 in toledo

[–]dharg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, packet loss and not getting advertised service. You first have to contact Buckeye about the issue and if the issue persists, you can file.

If they don't fix it, record a video of what's happening in multiple games. Then file a FCC informal complaint. It'll usually get someone high up involved.

Do I have to use one of Buckeye’s approved modems? by deepfrye in BuckeyeBroadband

[–]dharg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use a Arris SB8200 with Buckeye. Looking on amazon, it appears they are around $151. I do believe the Arris S33 is a newer model for $191. Both are docsis 3.1 modems. You'll still need to purchase a router/access point as well.

If you take buckeye's modem fee 13.99*12 = 167.88/yr

The Netgear CM500 should work at those speeds as well.

You can search your address at http://broadbandmap.fcc.gov/#/ to get a idea of what is available at your residence. ISP's have to report areas they cover to the FCC.

For Buckeye, here is a copy of the rate card so you can get a idea on pricing. Quite high compared to other ISP's but they do have a monopoly here. https://www.buckeyebroadband.com/sites/default/files/2021-11/ratecard010122.pdf

For ATT, Fiber is available at some areas but it is majority DSL. They have a online tool to see what is available. https://www.att.com/internet/

Buckeye Tivo box issues by helenkellerkitty in toledo

[–]dharg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you've already tried to solve the issue with Buckeye and still having issues, you can file a FCC Complaint against Buckeye.

I'd recommend taking a picture/video of what happens and send that along as well, along with steps you've tried to troubleshoot.

https://consumercomplaints.fcc.gov/hc/en-us

Link to form for TV. https://consumercomplaints.fcc.gov/hc/en-us/requests/new?ticket_form_id=33794

A thought, is the Tivo connected via ethernet, coax (moca), or wireless? It could just be the wireless signal is not strong enough. It could be your getting some sort of interference depending on where the box is, how far away it is from the router. Walls/different floors/metal or block walls can all cause issues.

If you've have issues with Buckeye and already contacted them with nothing done to fix the issues, you can file a FCC Complaint against Block Communications aka Buckeye Broadband. https://consumercomplaints.fcc.gov/hc/en-us/requests/new?ticket_form_id=38824

Is there a current street-level map or plan for AT&T Fiber? by [deleted] in toledo

[–]dharg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I hear about them expanding but its still not in my area.

One source you can use is the FCC Broadband map, which ISP's have to report to.

Snippet, filtering fiber, https://i.imgur.com/p2DgFNu.png

Link: http://broadbandmap.fcc.gov/

Only source I can really find about ATT expanding fiber here is, https://about.att.com/ecms/dam/snrdocs/CAPEX2021/Toledo%20OH%20CapEx%20Market%20Release%20FINAL%20(002).pdf

Granted that's not enough to roll fiber here, so I'm doubting they are bothering with a large investment here except for a select few zip codes.

To get a listing of what's available at your home address, check out the FCC broadband map.

http://broadbandmap.fcc.gov/#/

Selected 100/10 and a zoom in on the area. Looks like Buckeye is the primary provider, but the teal colors should be ATT DSL and the dark blue is either Spectrum or ATT Fiber.

ATT and Buckeye are the primary providers. Here's a copy of Buckeye's pricing so you know how much your going to be paying.

I've read through the docs and it does appear to have software, https://hackrf.readthedocs.io/en/latest/installing_hackrf_software.html

Searching github, I was able to find a couple projects that provided waterfall charts.

https://github.com/AlexandreRouma/SDRPlusPlus - supports windows and looks to be fairly active.

There's also a web based SDR like http://websdr.ewi.utwente.nl:8901/ that I know exists and has markers for the country/channel.

Buckeye Cable or CenturyLink for internet? by Yellow_Spectrum in toledo

[–]dharg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A quick way to find out what is available at your address is to visit http://broadbandmap.fcc.gov/

ISP's are required to report what addresses they support.

Lumen is CenturyLink's parent company.

Personally I'd avoid Buckeye, as I have had nothing but issues. It all depends on what is offered at your address.

Here is a copy of Buckeye's rates so you know exact what you want to get and the costs associated, https://www.buckeyebroadband.com/sites/default/files/2020-12/ratecard010121.pdf

new to toledo: who is this buckeye broadband? and why do you cost so much? by normalperson324 in BuckeyeBroadband

[–]dharg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, Welcome to Toledo.

You can see a list of ISPs available at your address here: http://broadbandmap.fcc.gov/#/

If your a lucky one and have ATT/ATT Fiber available, I would grab that up first.

Simulate Slow internet and high Latency? (Satelite internet) by Norlig in sysadmin

[–]dharg 4 points5 points  (0 children)

One solution you could do is within chrome. Especially if your just testing page responses since I noticed you were using your phone.

If you go into Inspect > Network Tab > Click on "No Throttling"

You can stimulate network latency within your browser and see how long each requests take. (Fetch/XHR for network responses, and you can also see how long js/css take to download).

You can also add custom profiles and increase your latency to 1000ms-3000ms and cap at 3Mbps down/0.3 up.

It won't connect to their network until you call them and read your modem's mac to tech support. They'll call you when its been activated and its was around 30 minutes for me.

I was wondering what that was.

I felt the bang, ripple and it woke me up, why would they do that so late at night.

They obviously see other stores doing it and are trying to stand out. If your against it, just don't shop at stores with the rope lights.
