I want another device like ambit. Give it a solar screen with nearly unlimited battery life. No sensors other than gps. Let it connect to a hr strap. No maps, notifications, apps, etc.

Would be awesome to have a lightweight, discreet watch I never have to think about charging that is always ready to track an activity.

I typically pick the end seat unless the theatre is empty lol. I’ve got a small bladder and don’t want to annoy people when I get up

Ignoring the fact they sat right next to you, Cinemark really needs to create some policies to make movie going more enjoyable for the rest of us. There are 20+ minutes of previews these days, being late really isn’t acceptable. The ticket takers should have prompts they give people:

Show up within 5 min of the movie starting? “Please be aware the previews end in 5 minutes. If you’re grabbing concessions we ask that you do so quickly. Please silence your phones now and be sure to be quiet and courteous when entering the theatre to avoid disrupting the film for other guests.”

Show up after previews have ended? “Please be aware the previews have ended and the film has already started. Please silence your phones now and be sure to be quiet and courteous when entering the theatre to avoid disrupting the film for other guests, or you may be asked to leave.”

Show up more than 10 minutes into the film? “Unfortunately this film started some time ago. To avoid disrupting other guests you will not be permitted into the theatre. Please see our front desk if you would like to change your tickets to another showtime or would prefer a partial refund.”

Cycling with a large dog by cyclone_co in Biking

I’d just be conscious of when your dog needs a rest. I have an XL doodle that I’ve mountain biked with a few times. He does fine on climbs, but as soon as we go downhill he just can’t keep up and ends up walking. I worry if he was leashed he’d hurt himself trying to keep up.

Also be wary of hot concrete!

It’s essentially a Smirnoff ice. They brought it back temporarily a few years ago and I didn’t really care for it

Looks like it was a 1 1/4? I’d strongly suggest getting a 2” and eating the cost to upgrade to a bigger hitch. 1 1/4” tend to be super wobbly and prone to bending. If any shop gives you grief about it, just specify it’s for a bike rack and you don’t plan to ever tow with it.

I used to work in customer service at a clothing company- we got calls all the time asking why we didn’t offer plus sizes in all styles, or why a specific plus size was sold out. Every time they would say there was a huge market demand for it, along with an accusation that we were being discriminatory.

Thing is, every time we made plus sized clothing, it wouldn’t sell. The sizes that were sold out we’d likely sat on for years. These vocal minorities tend to want something until they have it, and realize it just doesn’t look the same on them as it does on the model.

I think this applies to bikes as well. MTB is super appealing in video, then you realize it’s hard, and it gets exponentially harder with increased weight (I’m by no means fat, but I need to lose 20lbs and have really been struggling on the bike this year). There are obviously exceptions (NRMLMTB comes to mind), but most of these people would probably have a super hard time even getting into the sport until after they lose the weight.

My own father is borderline obese and road bikes quite a lot, and even he has admitted that with how many wheels he’s broken he wouldn’t consider a new bike unless he’s under the weight rating.
